Shuckers Tump is a pet friendly home, located in town within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Handicap Accessible with a ramp and handicap shower. Formerly known as "Cowboy Cottage". This home is open and bright with easy access to all island attractions.

This Property accepts Dogs Only (limit 2)
LINENS AND TOWELS PROVIDED

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Great Location!

The location was ideal!!! Walking distance to all the necessary shops, Dollar General, Wild Pony Donuts, Island Creamery, Grandma’s Waffles & Coffee. The house was the perfect size for our family of 4, everyone had their own room. The kitchen was a bit small but with some rearranging we were able to store our food in the cabinets. The fenced in yard was perfect to allow the dogs to get out and run around. I would stay again for sure!

Quiet and lots of room.

Property is comfy. I would suggest making the info about bringing linens,toilet paper, towels,and soap more prominent in the description. Our bad that we didn’t read the finer print. Fortunately, we were able to rent from the property manager.

Evans Island Stay

When we got to the Island, we had an easy check in. The property was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped. My family wanted to grill during the week, the burners were rusted out so we rigged up a grill with charcoal. The yard was large enough for our 2 medium size dogs. However, the grass was getting long and needed a mowing. The fence wasn’t very tall and needed a repair so I had to watch my 1 dog so she wouldn’t jump the fence. The screen in porch was very nice and the deck off of the porch was great to watch the fireworks and the sunsets. I would return to this property. We really enjoyed our week.

Weekend Getaway

We were very happy with this house. The location is great, we biked almost everywhere we wanted to go. The house was very clean. You can tell the owners have done recent updates, fresh paint on walls, nice colors and decor. It's nice to stay somewhere that you can tell the owners likely come to enjoy it as well, more love shown in the house. Thanks for sharing with us!

Our stay at Shuckers Tump

Exterior maintenance was lacking. Needed paint job and grass had not been mowed. Weeds growing inside screened in porch. Handle in master shower did not work and after being repaired there was no water coming from the faucet. The shower had green stains on walls and grab handle.

Perfect !

None of us had been to Chincoteague before so a whole new experience and we were delighted! Shucker’s Tump ... first we had to figure what a ‘tump’ was and now we want printed t-shirts ! We rode horses - kayaked with a guide who gave us the history, wildlife sightings and information, the beautiful uncrowded (!) beaches and the thoughtful presentation of the house. It truly was perfect for my birthday with my adult children and an experience for us all to remember at Shucker’s Tump in Chincoteague. Thank you for making it so special. And thank you for welcoming an important member of our family - our sweet beagle. She loved the new-found freedom of a dog door and a huge fenced yard with horses and geese nearby for her sensory pleasures! I’ll say again : it was perfect !

Perfect getaway spot!

Great location with walking distance to restaurants, Main Street and even to the Wildlife Refuge (if you don’t mind a 30 minute walk). Also located near the bay to beach trail. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable (that’s usually our biggest rental complaint). The kitchen had plenty of dishes and everything we needed. The kitchen could use a dish drainer of some sort since there is no dishwasher. The porch and the deck were perfect to enjoy some time outside and our dog really enjoyed watching the horses in the next yard and chasing the geese out of the fenced in backyard. Super happy to find a pet friendly rental. Highly recommend taking your dog on the Daisey Island Boat Tour too!

PERFECT FOR FUR BABIES!

Property was perfect for weekend getaway with pets! Nice, clean home with everything we needed! Loved the screened in deck and fenced in yard for our fur babies! We will book again in the summer!!!
