Rough Close Farm Cottage

  • Situated in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, Rough Close Farm Cottage offers a peaceful and comfortable retreat just outside the charming village of Ashover. This two-bedroom cottage combines traditional character with modern comforts, making it an ideal getaway for couples, families, or friends looking to explore the Peak District.



    The ground floor features a fully equipped kitchen, featuring an AGA with everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals together, complete with a dining area for relaxed gatherings. The inviting living room includes a log burner and a TV, creating the perfect space to unwind after a day of exploring. Off from the living room, guests will find a football table for a bit of friendly competition and a telescope to take in the sweeping views across the Ashover countryside. A handy downstairs cloakroom adds extra convenience.



    Upstairs, the cottage offers two comfortable bedrooms, each thoughtfully furnished to ensure a restful night’s sleep. In the second bedroom there is a large super-king bed that can be made into two singles upon request at the time of booking. The modern bathroom includes a bath, shower, and W/C, providing a bright and refreshing space to start or end your day.



    Rough Close Farm Cottage is set in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by open countryside. It offers a wonderfully peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the noise and bustle of everyday life.



    Situated in picturesque Ashover, one of Derbyshire’s prettiest villages, the cottage is perfectly placed for enjoying local walks, country pubs, and stunning rural views.



    The market town of Matlock is just a short drive away, offering shops, restaurants, and attractions such as the Heights of Abraham. Chesterfield and Bakewell are also within easy reach, providing even more opportunities to discover the beauty and charm of the Peak District.

The cottage was home from home for us. It was fully equipped for our needs and we were able to relax and unwind in very comfortable surroundings. We loved the log fire and the bath was a real treat! We were able to take walks from the doorstep and enjoy the views and wildlife of the local area. We highly recommend this accommodation.
