Disfrute de un retiro junto al lago aislado en Down East Maine. Relájese en las orillas por ti mismo. No hay vecinos están cerca o dentro de la vista de la cabina. Dedique su tiempo en silencio mirando el agua, remando la canoa, disfrutando de la naturaleza, o descansando en las mecedoras en el porche. La cabina mira hacia abajo en toda la longitud del lago y se apoya a sólo 15 pies de distancia de la orilla del agua. Tome la canoa para explorar el lago prístino. Pocos barcos o personas exploran este lago.

Una tienda comedor / conveniencia está a sólo 7 millas de distancia. Además, tiene un excelente acceso al océano y al senderismo en Bar Harbor (2 horas), Machias (1,5 horas), Winter Harbor / Schoodic Point (1 hora) o mayor Ellsworth (1 hora), Bold Coast (2 horas).

Usted caminará una bonita ruta de senderismo de un tercio de milla por el bosque para llegar a la cabina. Al llegar a la cabina, el lago azul, una humilde cabaña de madera, y una vista panorámica te saluda inmediatamente.

Mercados de agricultores: si te gusta la comida local, asegúrate de visitar los divertidos mercados de agricultores de verano en el área. Viaje alrededor de una hora al puerto de invierno el martes por la mañana. Asegúrese de ir en coche a la parte superior de la cabeza de Schoodic, caminar a lo largo de Schoodic Point mientras esté allí. El sábado por la mañana, puede visitar los mercados de granjeros de Ellsworth, Milbridge o Machias.

Rutas de senderismo en los alrededores: La cabina está cerca de numerosas rutas de senderismo. Montaña plomo es sólo a unas pocas millas al norte de la cabina. Schoodic Montaña se encuentra en Sullivan (1 hora al suroeste de la cabina) y tiene senderos que suben los picos este y oeste. Caribou, Catherine y Tunk Mountains están cerca y un poco más cerca de la cabaña. Quoddy en Lubec (1. 5 horas de distancia) ofrece una gran caminata al lado del mar a lo largo de hermosos acantilados. ¡Gran lugar! Además, hay una gran red de senderos para caminatas y campamentos a lo largo del océano en Cutler (a 2 horas de distancia).

El camino hacia la cabina es un camino de tierra. El propietario mantiene personalmente este camino. Usted tendrá que viajar lentamente en algunos lugares. No se recomienda un coche deportivo o un coche muy cargado. Un coche normal va a estar bien.

If you want an experience like a cabin at Baxter State Park, but can't get a reservation, this is your place. Not for the hiking, but for the woods, remoteness, woodfires, sitting on the porch, Loons,reading a book,canoeing, sunsets, fresh air, escape.

Surrounding woods and area definitely exceeded my expectations. A truly amazing clean green almost untouched area with clear waters and piney forests. Cabin was very comfortable and came with boats lights and everything we needed to have a great time out there. One of the best off the grid experiences I’ve had. Thanks again!

Three days felt like a step back in time in this classic camp. Nothing to do but be still in a beautiful place. The far side of the lake boasts beautiful rocks and views of Spruce Mountain. The water was warm, the air clear. Multiple boats for our use were great. We spent hours on and in the water. Christian was a generous and friendly host. Thanks for sharing this place with us.

Cozy Peaceful Cabin

Spent the weekend with my girlfriend and 2 dogs up at this cabin as a little getaway. It was very quiet, peaceful, relaxing. From cutting down and dead wood for the fire, to canoeing on the calm lake in the morning, and listening to the loons at night. The dogs absolutely loved the cabin as well. It is very secluded so they loved the off leash adventures nearby the cabin while we played games on the porch and even took strolls through the trails. We will definitely be going back because of how much of a great time we had. If you like the woods and want to get away, I highly recommend this stay.

Peaceful and Secluded

We loved our stay at the cabin and we were sad to leave. We enjoyed use of the kayaks and brought our paddleboard. The lake is beautiful and clean. Our dogs enjoyed spending so much time outdoors with us and going for their first swim. The cabin worked well for our family. It's simple, but that's what we were looking for. Spent a lot of time on the porch enjoying the lake view. Cooked over the campfire and played games at night. Christian met us the evening of our arrival and he was great to talk with. Highly recommend if you're looking for a secluded, peaceful, off-grid experience. We loved it and hope to go back next summer! Thanks so much Christian!

Perfect Cabin on a lake.

We stayed for 3 nights, and it was lovely. The cabin is small and rustic and has all the basic necessities. The view is incredible and the swimming on the lake was lovely. Christian, explained everything perfectly and we had a great time.

Heaven on earth

Absolute Gem! This place has everything you need. The hike to the cabin is about 10-15 min. Christian gave us a wagon to haul some stuff. The trail is not completely smooth, and the wagon tipped over a couple of times so next time, we will pack a little lighter. The cabin is stocked, and Christian gave us a 5 gallon of water that we used to make coffee and tea, wash some dishes and more. It was more than 2 people and 2 dogs needed. Bring your bug spray!! The place has lots of horseflies and mosquitos. Check yourself for ticks daily, we had two on us. But these are things that can be easily dealt with. The cabin is on the lake, there are no cabins in sight. We needed a reset from the world, and we got it here for sure. The wild animals visited us here including a hummin bird, a red squirrel, a duck family and we heard loons. We will be back for sure!

This was our second time at the cabin and we were just as blessed this trip. Christian is a kind and engaged host and the cabin and its surroundings are wonderful if you are looking for a secluded, peaceful, rustic retreat.

Worth it

Obviously this place isn’t for everyone who needs modern amenities, but the cabin and location were excellent. We didn’t see anyone on the lake the whole weekend. There was lots of leftover shelf-stable food, bug spray, sunscreen, and other essentials left over so pack lightly. The fire pit, charcoal grill, and propane stove all worked for our cooking needs. The site had multiple canoes and a tandem kayak (only a canoe paddle though) and the lake was beautiful. The only downside is the walk in was pretty brutal when carrying everything but we overpacked and the 95 degree weather didn’t help. If needed, there was a wheel barrow and a radio flyer cart to use for carrying luggage. We didn't have any luck fishing but Christian said it mostly is perch and pickerel if you were to catch something. We recommend this spot and would definitely consider re-booking another stay here!

Perfect getaway

Chris was a perfect host. Met us at the trailhead, no hidden information. This place was like being in the adirondaks in the 70's. Very remote, , quiet, no motor boats or people. Very rough terrain getting in to the campsite, but worth. It. Cones, & kayaks accesable at shreline. Our pup especailly loved i it. Freedom off lease after 2 days of walking the same trails. Max loved it. Hopefully we can go back next summer for a month. Thank you Chris. Place is outstanding!!!!!!

A very peaceful stay

My wife, our 2 year old pyr mix, and I chose this location for a peaceful retreat for a few days. It was really ideal. The rustic cabin sits on a windward facing point of Spruce Mountain Lake. The one room cabin would be relatively dark inside if not for the skylights, which bring in plenty of light. There's a nice breeze from the lake and very little sounds at night except for water lapping at the rocky shore and loons calling to each other around the lake. The cabin has a propane 2 burner stove but no power. Water was provided by our host, who met us there on our first day. We also brought our own water, food, lights, and other supplies which we toted in our folding wagon. The only bathroom is an outhouse, which was well looked after and didn't have any detectable aroma thankfully. The walk in from parking is about 1/3 of a mile on fairly rocky terrain. Our host, Christian, provides a wagon at the trailhead for use, a canoe at lakeside, firewood for the campfire (or presumably the small woodstove inside but we didn't need/ask about it), fresh water for drinking/washing, oil lamps, toilet paper, cards/cribbage games, and plenty of pots/pans for cooking. There are a lot of dry groceries stocked for anyone to enjoy. We had a really nice time. I took a dip in the lake and cooked meals over the campfire. On rainy days it was nice to sleep in and cook inside. Next time I'll pack less, knowing that Christian has provided most everything needed.

Perfect 3 nights!

After discovering this place last year; I decided to come back and bring my parents as a retirement gift. They talked about how amazing it was almost the entire drive home (7 hours). The cabin is perfect secluded getaway. My dog loved lounging around on the porch watching the loons. My parents took the canoe out a few times and we all enjoyed swimming in the clear water. We went up to Lebec one day for lunch and went to Quoddy Head, Boot Bay, and Hamilton Cove. Such gorgeous places. I don’t normally like to go back to the same areas to stay, when there is so much to explore, but this cabin is an exception. It’s just such a special place! Thanks Christian!!!

This location is a hikers paradise. Travel light to this location. The hike in is rocky with exposed roots. The swimming was great. Cabin bed was very comfortable. Had a good time. Thank you for sharing this place with us Christian.

Wow!

This was the ultimate off the grid experience - so beautiful in every way - you’d have to experience it to understand the wonderful walk in to the property… take my word for it - it will be an experience of a lifetime! Great host who is very passionate about the property and offers helpful suggestions. Highly recommend. Not for anyone with mobility issues.

2 nights in October

Our stay was short but enjoyable and we hope to go back someday. The cabin was great….rustic and user friendly. I liked the skylights that brightened it up. It was warm enough that we didn’t need the wood stove but we had a campfire outside at night. Christopher was a great host.
