Wake up to a stunning sunrise at this spacious 3-acre waterfront home. Sip coffee on the deck as you consider how to enjoy your day. Perhaps you’ll decide on kayaking, or paddle boarding down the river. If you prefer mountain biking there is a trail very close by or Black Mountain supports some of the best to be found anywhere! When you get back from your adventure, you can wander through the yard’s organic garden and gather a few goodies for dinner. Utilize the grill, and perhaps catch dinner right off of the dock. You could also relax in a patio chair, or play some of the yard games we provide. It’s your time, your choice! For dinner, eat around the campfire, or take a boat to a unique local restaurants. For another outing, plan to experience island life for a day—both Mackinac Island and Bois Blanc are nearby, with ferries available to get you there and back. Or can see the Straits from the air as you drive over the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. Closer at hand, you could boat down Cheboygan River, Black River (open to tubing or water skiing just minutes away), or just out to Mullet Lake for a while. A true adventure is the entire inland waterway for an all day trip. Relax and melt into the rhythm of Northern Michigan at your pace! Breath fresh air, refresh you soul, become one with nature. Plenty of wildlife to listen to as you relax, and at night the stars light up the sky. Or everyone can watch a movie, with popcorn on the 70-inch TV. (Xbox for the kids) Sit around a crackling fire pit that is surrounded by comfortable patio furniture at night and roast marshmallows. Truly a 5 star stay!

Such a beautiful home and location on the river. Kathy was very easy to communicate with. It was so comfortable and filled with amenities. The added bonus of kayaks and paddle boards and option of the pontoon boat was so nice. It was very clean and it was a relaxing stay. We didn’t want to leave to go to our next stop!

5 star property

This is truly a gem of a vacation home, or Very private, but close to town, house is extremely comfortable, incredible views, new deck with hot tub installed, great patio with fire pit plenty of seating. The host is outstanding, from fresh flowers to homemade pie, quick response on any issues or concerns or advice. Highly recommend running the pontoon, miles, and miles of available boating, can go to several incredible beaches, boat to dinner. I have rented several vacation homes and some homes come with barely a roll of toilet paper. This home is got lots of creature comfort from home fully extract kitchen with everything you can imagine. It is truly a easy house to vacation.

Family Vacation Success

Our family enjoyed a nice week at Kathy’s home. We appreciated the ability to rent her pontoon, have ramp access and pavers to boat dock, a first floor primary bedroom and bathroom and good family spaces. The deck allowed for a great view of the rivers along with a great fire pit to make memories while staring at the stars. Cheboygan has a nice downtown with a farmers market on Weds and Saturdays, restaurants and ice cream to enjoy. Easy drive to Mackinac city too. Communicating with Kathy was easy before and during trip. We would recommend her VRBO to friends and family.

Nice and relaxing stay

Our family of 7 had a great stay. We relaxed on the water everyday. It was nice having a washer and dryer to use and almost anything imaginable in the kitchen to use. The kids loved the hot tub and exploring the gardens. The fresh pie was a nice and memorable touch.

Amazing stay!

Absolutely stunning lakefront property in Michigan! Our stay here was a dream come true. The breathtaking views of the water right from the backyard left us in awe. The house was immaculate, well-furnished, and had all the amenities we could ask for. We spent our days lounging on the private dock, taking in the serene atmosphere, and enjoying water activities. The sunsets were straight out of a postcard. Kathy was incredibly accommodating and made sure our stay was perfect, including providing a pie and s’mores treats as a welcome gift. This is the ideal getaway for anyone seeking tranquility.

Oh my goodness!

This is one place you definitely have to stay at! The home is very clean and spacious, with so much to do inside and out. Kathy our wonderful host gave us a warm welcome with a delicious homemade apple pie and some flowers. She had the fire pit set with logs ready to be lit along with everything needed to make s’mores. The hot tub was clean with fresh water just waiting for us. Our family said they want to make this a yearly vacation as it was so relaxing and fun! Thank you Kathy, for making our stay so special.💕

Family vacation destination

What a surprise and joy this family vacation rental was for our group. Kathy was a great host and welcomed us on day one with an informative tour, a river life gift basket and a delicious raspberry rhubarb pie. She is so kind and attentive to all the details. The hot tub, master bath, coffee bar and most importantly THE VIEW were highlights of our family trip. We had teens and seniors in our group and there was something for everyone.

Best VRBO Host!

Our group, 4 adults +2 teens, and a few additional family members for day visits enjoyed this property tremendously. The amount of resources and amenities for our use was above and beyond previous VRBO experiences. These included an option to have the host grocery shop in advance, option for a pontoon rental, a large garden on property to pick from, paddle boards, kayaks, a canoe, a large dock to use with our own boat, large kitchen ready for preparing meals, so much more. Kathy is a great host, very friendly, helpful, and responsive. The location on the river provided great access to the Cheboygan river, very close to the Black River, not far from Mullet Lake or Lake Huron, and close to stores in Cheboygan. Stay here, you won't be disappointed. 5 Stars!

Family Vacation

We loved our stay! The house, garden, fire pit, boat… it was all perfect. We were welcomed with a homemade apple pie (made from apples off the property) and a very thoughtful gift basketl. If Michigan is in our vacation plans again, we will definitely come back. 100% recommend!

Ask for the boat, it is a wonderful plus! Very nice master bathroom that we all loved. Enjoyed the hot tub too! Great location, plenty of space to spread out. Lots of extras like bikes, games, etc.

Great stay on the river

One of the best!

Kathy, she is such a terrific person and host. She greeted us with a pie, fresh picked vegetables from her garden and a dozen organic eggs! How nice was that! We enjoyed the nice and clean house, a beautiful water view and the kids throughly enjoyed the water activities that was available.

Nice getaway

"Kathy is an outstanding host who did everything to make our 5-day stay a great experience. Home was very clean and stocked with all provisions that we needed. Property is very large, private and great for outside activities, including plenty of space for dogs to play. Location on Cheboygan River is very scenic. It does require a 30 minute, no-wake boat ride each way to Mullet Lake, but is a pleasant cruise. We did take advantage of the optional pontoon rental - The boat and motor are certainly not new but it worked out for our family of seven. The whole family voted Kathy's place as a 5-star vacation experience.

Just perfect!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We’ve been renting cottages around Michigan every summer for many years; this one is definitely our favorite so far! Beautiful house and property, great location, and Kathy is by far the best host we’ve ever had! She goes above and beyond, starting first with the delicious homemade pie and fresh flower bouquet waiting for us when we arrived. The house was clean and had everything we needed plus more! We enjoyed taking the pontoon boat out to Mullet Lake (took us only 30 minutes on the Cheboygan River to get there). We spent a lot of time on the Black River too - great for fishing and tubing with the kids. The kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and taking the kayaks out. We spent the evenings in the hot tub or around the bonfire (or both!). Cheboygan is a nice town, not too busy and has everything you need. We never stay in the same place more than once, but we might have to come back to this one!

Outstanding Vacation Home on the Cheboygan River

This is an outstanding place to stay at with plenty of outdoor toys to use, Kayaks, Paddle board, Bikes, Grills, huge fire pit with plenty of firewood, plenty of outdoor chairs and tables. The Pontoon boat was so convenient to use and take cruises up and down the Cheboygan River. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Fun Fourth of July
