My family and I arrived late and slept fine in the beds. Unfortunately when we woke up we were faced with the black mold all over the ceiling. Should’ve asked for a refund but wanted to get out of there asap.

This was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The room smelled like armpits, the bathtub was dirty, the bathroom light was dimming and flickering and when I asked to change my room at the front desk, they said no because “there’s no other rooms available” liar!!! I could physically see other rooms available and there was just no way this dingy hotel in West Virginia was fully booked up. I know the price is cheap but save yourself the headache and go with a slightly more expensive option. This one is not it!!

Our room was reasonably clean, and the personnel were very helpful. It was very hard to find the establishment. It is an old motel that is beginning to show it’s age, but is doing reasonably well,,

Place was very dirty had to switch one room because there was dog hair and dirt in the bed. The shower curtain was stained with not sure what… the second room had 2 holes in the wall. The staff was telling me I could not pay the deposit unless it was cash she was very rude and unhelpful. Woudl not recommend at all.

This hotel was the second in a chain of three different hotels that we were using for our travel the first hotel I’ve already commented on, but this hotel is clean. It was nice however, the next day I did see a roach when I was getting ready to check out so I had to undo all my items and make sure that none were nesting in my you know my luggage other than that it was OK.

What day is particular hotel is older and slightly rundown the owners and the staff took care of every need. I had within five minutes of being there if you need a very inexpensive place to stay at this location this is where you should go tell them Roger sent you lol

When I travel, I don't want to spend more of my money at hotels. My stay at the Red Roof Inn in Kanawha City met my basic expectations: hot water, working heating/cooling, working TV, mini fridge, clean towels and wash cloths, and a clean comfortable bed. However, there were a few issues: missing light bulbs and a leaking sink drain.

The room was great. The outside of the property was a bit run down and the area was so-so. But, that is also practical and expected for the price point. I had a good night's sleep and got back on the road the next day without any issues, so it was a good experience.

We travel quite often, and so far this is the worst motel/hotel we have ever stayed in. They have the absolute worst staff. Don't stay here; you will absolutely regret it. ​We stayed there on Oct. 22, 2026, and the first room given to us had a very strong smell that made my wife almost throw up. I asked the receptionist if she could give us another room. At first, she said she couldn't, but after I insisted, she finally agreed to give us another room for an additional $10, which was fine with us. After I paid the $10, she said it wouldn't be charged, but when I checked my credit card, it was. When I told her about it, she said, "I know," along with other words I couldn't understand because of her thick accent. I asked her to repeat herself, but her response was extremely rude—she yelled, "Didn't you listen?" I have never felt as humiliated as I did by her. ​By the way, they also took another $10 from our security deposit, but I filed a chargeback with my credit card company and fortunately got it back. So please pay attention to extra charges from this motel if you accidentally stay there.
