Fantastic House 1 Minute to the Beach~ Family Tides

One of Folly's Best! This house is great for family vacations or girls/guys weekend trips with easy access to the beach, downstairs game room, and huge screened porch. The house is a quick walk to the beach and 7 blocks from Center Street where you will find all the fun and funky Folly Beach shops and amazing restaurants. An open floor plan with natural light, the living room area is elegant yet comfortable for beach living with a Smart TV, full cable package and wireless internet. The dining area has a large table with two additional leaves to accommodate up to 6 people. You will fall in love with the spacious screened-in porch located just off the living room with a table set for alfresco dining and a separate lounge area. Just off the porch is a separate sun deck with full-size chaise lounge chairs; it's a great spot for lounging and drinks with friends! The house has 3 bedrooms with a King in the primary and queen size beds in the secondary rooms. The primary bedroom is bright and comfy with a private bathroom and a walk-in shower. The second and third bedrooms are relaxing with large closets and dressers in each room. The second bathroom and linen closet are off the hallway and this bathroom has upgraded finishes with a tub and shower. Downstairs makes for a fantastic kids area or 'mancave' with a foosball and ping-pong table. There is also a washer and dryer downstairs and an outdoor shower-sink-toilet for cleaning up when you get back from the beach. Outside guests will find delicious kumquats, mandarin oranges, pecans and figs growing on the property so feel free to pick and enjoy what you like! The property contains two rental houses connected together on this street-to-street lot. One house contains long-term tenants (who use the carport and share usage of the outdoor shower) and the second house is Family Tides (front unit with partial ocean view) which is available for short term rental. There is parking in the driveway for three cars plus plenty of street parking in front and back of the house. Family Tides allows a maximum of 2 dogs, with a combined weight of up to 80lbs. (Pre-approval is required, and fees apply-please don't hesitate to contact us directly for additional information) Please book with confidence. This property is licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental - License Number LIC003578. Because of the potential of fraud we would not recommend booking a property not licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental.

Great location and large, clean space.

We really like the location, close to the best but away from the party atmosphere. It was quiet and the interior was very clean. The exterior needs some work— probably just the end of the season. If you have disabled folks, be aware of quite a few steps to get into the property. We would come again, for sure, though.

Relax with Family - Lots of Room - Extra Space

I read the other reviews, and I wasn’t too sure. After visiting the beautiful home, I love this place! It was nicely decorated and very clean. You can tell the owner loves this property. Even the yard was neat and tidy! We all enjoyed napping on the huge back porch. Downstairs we found a ping pong table and foosball table and played them both many times throughout our stay. It’s a nice place to send family who like to stay up late. The noises didn’t travel to the upstairs bedrooms. The beds and pillows were comfortable too. We were provided with plenty of supplies for our stay and actually left the leftover supplies we didn’t need. Off street parking was a plus too! We spent most of our time in the peaceful living room. We never heard any neighbors. The neighborhood has a little store a few blocks away, and the beach access is super close. I give the host five stars too. He quickly answered all my questions throughout my stay. I definitely recommend staying here.

Beach time

Very nice house. Clean and well equipped. Close to the beach, a short one block walk. It's a short drive to Charleston for shopping or visiting the many historic sights. Our vacation stay was well worth the cost.

Great family home

We enjoyed our spring break with adult children and 15 year old. They enjoyed the lower level game room. 1 mile from town which we walked a couple times:) super close to beach! Our part of the beach was very quiet. The home was updated and clean. Plenty of space for us. We loved the screen porch. It was all we hoped it would be.

Family break at Family Tides

Had a great week at Family Tides. Plenty of room to spread out between parents and the teenagers, both indoors and outdoors. Nice screened in porch for bug free reading and chatting outside. Large deck facing the ocean offered a warm view in the sunshine on breezy days. The beds were comfortable and clean. The game room offered several competitive games of ping pong. One suggestion would be to add some seating in the basement, apart from the bar stools, to offer a secondary location for the kids to watch a movie at the end of the day. The bathrooms served their purpose - they could be updated to include more hooks for towels and the master could use some shelf space or a medicine cabinet for all of the bathroom items travelers bring along. The location of the house was perfect - within a 15-20 min walk of all of the shops and restaurants, while far enough down the beach to have lots of space, even on busier beach days. This was our first visit to Folly Beach and 3rd time in the Charleston area. We were 25 min from historic Charleston and loved the proximity to the city while still being on the beach. A couple cosmetic updates to Family Tides would really polish up this gem. We had a great time and look forward to future visits on Folly Beach.

Great location but needs maintenance

We stayed at family tides for a week June. The location of the home is fantastic with easy access to the beach and town. The layout of the house for our family of 4 was perfect and the kitchen is well equipped. Communication with the management company was great. The house, however, needs maintenance. When walking in the front door you immediately smell mildew. The mildew smell was so strong in the basement we were not able to take advantage of any of the games in that space. The screened in porch has rips and tears in the screens and offers little protection from mosquitoes. The master bathroom has a dirty and rusted floor vent, a dripping faucet and a pocket door that is difficult to open and close. The outdoor shower/bath needs a really thorough cleaning. Lastly we were really disappointed that this house does not provide beach towels or beach chairs. For the price of rental for the week it was frustrating to spend another $75 on beach towels at Walmart.
