Charming Pet Friendly Oceanview Bungalow - Prime Location - Steps to Beach

This cottage is ideally located for families and couples who want to come and go from the beach and downtown Folly without driving, parking or walking very far. The beach access, directly across the street, is just 40 feet from the front steps. Restaurants and shopping area are just 3 blocks away.

One of Folly's original cottages, the Love Shack has been updated inside with creature comforts. But the large front deck is still our guests' favorite - as it puts you right in the Folly action with great views. You can see and hear the ocean from almost every room in the house - or listen to the ocean and feel the breezes. There's even a roof top deck over the porch if you want a panoramic view of the island.

This rental offers guests a combination of comfort and nostalgia that's getting harder to come by...we have aimed to preserve the same flavor we enjoyed as youngsters coming to the beach, before the era of condos and 'McMansions.' This property has 2 bedrooms and a large living area, both areas equipped with 42' flat screen TVs. Our cottage has approximately 650 square feet.

The living area and kitchen are open, divided by a bar/table/counter which is an old hatch door from a WWII Liberty Ship - refinished of course.

Folly Beach is a six mile long barrier island, and the closest beach to historic Charleston, South Carolina, 15 minutes on the Connector.

We welcome children of all ages and dogs. Our property is located on a corner lot. The backyard has a canopy of live oaks and is completely fenced. This home is not nearly as elevated as the newer ones; so there's only 10 steps from the back door to the yard. All these features make pet care and child care a lot easier. And don't worry about parking - we have 4 off street spaces at the back of the lot; and another in the front.

The perfect beach getaway!

We booked the cottage for the July 4th holiday and it was the perfect getaway! Gigi made the check in process so easy and enjoyable! The place was immaculate, and we had everything that we needed and more! We dined out the first night but cooked the remainder of the time and had everything we needed. The location was right at the beach access and easy to navigate. The fenced in back yard is perfect for pups, and I love how the owner has given so much special attention to making her home a place that is welcoming for four legged guests! My husband also commented on this being the most comfortable mattress he’s slept on at a VRBO (and we vacation with VRBO all the time so that’s saying something!). 10/10 stay and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a great stay and stellar hospitality!

Great location!

The house was perfect for our family of four. It was clean and exactly as described. Easy walk to the beach and only a few blocks off Center St so easy to walk to the restaurants and shops without having to worry about parking. We will definitely consider this house for our next trip to Folly.

We aren't typically repeat renters at the same place (we love traveling new places and trying various spots!), but this is our exception!! Our 4th visit to this wonderful spot on 4th street and we will be back again next year. Perfect location, easy parking, dog-friendly (fenced in backyard!) and our daughter loves the "birds nest" viewing spot up top. What summer dreams are made of!

Happiness!

It began with meeting GiGi at the house. She is amazing and informative and a delight to talk to. Followed up with four nights of a wonderful experience. You could see the beach/ocean from the house. The fenced in backyard is amazing. Location is perfect. The house really felt like my home. I would suggest everyone staying here. And my dog got to do her last bucket list trip. And that was heartwarming.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage. It was so nice to be right across the street from a beach access! The owner was the BEST with communicating and going the extra mile for us! The back yard was amazing for our pets and we enjoyed the shade instead of the beach during the hottest part of the day. Thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs!

Cutest, brightest house with great outdoor space

This is the best beach house. So clean, view of water, easy beach access, walkable to town and wonderful outdoor patio and big back lawn. Gigi was a wonderful host!

Great getaway

This was our second time staying at the Love Shack. We love that it is pet friendly with a fenced in yard and the beaches literally across the street. We love all the recent changes including the expanded deck space. Gigi is amazing and so very welcoming! loved that she was there to greet us upon our arrival. The Bungalow is well cared for and the kitchen is well equipped

Perfect for stay with dog

Great place! Location is walking distance to downtown/pier. View of ocean from deck & just a walk across street to public beach access. Stocked with everything we needed ( except beach towel, but not a big deal). Fenced in yard great for our pup. Gigi keeps the place very clean!

Amazing Cozy Beach House!

We loved our time at this cozy beach house. We loved the distance from town and the beach. The backyard was perfect for our two pups that tagged along. Would recommend and would love to stay there again!

Location, Location, Location

Everything was amazing, starting with the warm welcome received from the property manager Gigi, the charming cottage with great views of the ocean, beach access right across the street, and a short walk to downtown Folly. As a single woman, I felt totally safe and comfortable. The fenced in yard was perfect for taking my puppy out in the early morning or later at night. The house and linens are clean and had everything needed to feel like it is a home away from home. I couldn't ask for a better stay.
