Modern Country House on the Shenandoah River

  • Come and immerse yourself in year-round nature and beauty of the Shenandoah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, only 70 mins from DC. There are 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 full baths, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space to relax in. Take a nature walk down to the beautiful Shenandoah river to float or kayak, visit many award winning wineries & breweries, farms, charming historical towns nearby, try your luck at the Charles Town Casino and hike the Appalachian trail!

    The space
    Enjoy the tranquility of this updated, modern house with vaulted ceilings and a large skylight. Open the patio door and surround yourself in nature; enjoy the view of the river and the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains (This area is known to be a "birding hotspot") or take a beautiful nature walk down to the river. During the spring and summer months, you are free to use the provided kayaks, river floats and other river accessories at your own risk, after signing an activity waiver.

    There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the main level with SmartTVs; the master suite offers a King size bed with a premium Nectar Memory Foam mattress, the second comfortable queen bedroom with a it's own full bath. The brick room downstairs also has a SmartTV, books, toys, board games, a daybed and a full bathroom. The third bedroom, from the brick room, has a twin over full bunk-bed with a trundle and is perfect for children or guests who want more privacy.

    There is a solo stove, gas grill on the deck and a large firepit just below.

    You can spend your entire stay enjoying the calm rolling hills, abundant wildlife and the beautiful Shenandoah River, never leaving the property.

    In 20 minutes, you can reach 3 Appalachian trailheads; Raven Rock, Bear's Den or Harper's Ferry. In addition, the house is ideally-located to follow the attractions and history of the Washington Heritage Trail, including Charles Town, Harper’s Ferry, Shepherdstown, Martinsburg and Berkeley Springs; where you can learn history, hike, shop, dine, and even soak in the healing mineral waters in America's first spa. Charlestown has a casino and the oldest horse racing track!

    Or explore many award winning breweries and wineries in the surrounding Middleburg Virginia and Shenandoah Wine region. There are many family friendly farms in the area and fun activities for the kids.

    The house can accommodate up to 10 guests. $20 fee per guest/ night will be charged after 6 guests.

The house had plenty of room for our group. We appreciated all of the board games and ability to spend quality family time together. It was a bit of a hike to get to the river, but absolutely beautiful when you got there.

We and our friends have traveled to many vacation rentals over the last 10 years and we all agreed that this rental in particular ranked among the top sites. Beautiful views of the river. The house had everything we needed and was plenty big for 8 people. The nature walk down to the river isn’t for the weak hearted but totally doable with some hiking boots. We loved our stay and would do it again.

Bike get-away

A group of 6 friends stayed at the house to do some bike riding wine & beer tasting in the area. We had a great time. The house worked out wonderfully.

Comfortable house with a beautiful view

Enjoyed our stay, hosts very easy to deal with. The house was comfortable and we enjoyed the view and the outside spaces and kayaks were a big hit with the fishermen, however access to the river was not ideal for our family of mixed ages requiring a drive to access the water.

Had a wonderful weekend with a beautiful view

We stayed there for a relaxing guys weekend. The house was lovely and very comfortable and the view was amazing. The host could not have been better. I recommend this place for anyone wanting a relaxing getaway and would go back myself sometime.

Lovely vacation spot

We greatly enjoyed our four nights in this beautiful home. The central great room is wonderful — very spacious and attractive and with scenic views from the many windows. The perfect vacation home! We also have a toddler and loved being able to use the toys suitable for young kids.

Everything we wanted and more!

This was a perfect long weekend stay for two families (4 adults, 4 kids). Comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped house on a beautiful property. Very responsive and helpful host. Would give 6 stars if I could. We hope to be back soon!

Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! We had everything we needed. The kids LOVED the bunk-bed room, the house is VERY clean and close to activities, but also quiet and relaxing with a beautiful view. Songyee is a great host who provided very thoughtful and helpful information for the stay! Thank you!

We had a wedding at a nearby farm, and this house worked out great for what we needed. Plenty of space and no issues during the trip! Easy and quick communication from the owner.

Rented the house for my 40th with a few friends. The neighbors were very helpful. The view of the river is spectacular. The house was sufficient and cozy.

Five women, three bathrooms; enough space for us around the table, in the main room, on the deck. Lovely view, lots of deer, quiet neighborhood. Central to the activities we had planned.

Shenandoah River Getaway

Songyee was an incredible host, her place was what our family needed for a three day private getaway. The house and amenities were exactly as what was described and Songyee was very responsive to our questions. It is a beautiful, peaceful location with a great view of the river and mountains. We really enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river and definitely want to return in the near future.

Adult getaway

We take an adult weekend once a year. We had such a good time. The house was clean, spacious, and exactly what we needed for a long weekend. I had to message the owner,and she was so quick to respond. We would definitely recommend the house.

Relaxing time on Shenandoah River

Our family of eight loved staying here. We were able to cook meals and do laundry throughout the week. Our younger kids loved the games and toys. We enjoyed hiking down to the river to kayak and we enjoyed roasting hot dogs and smores in the backyard. It was just so peaceful - a little off the beaten path and relaxing.
