"We chose to spend a night here for our honeymoon. The hotel provides a very convenient—and free—shuttle service, which is incredibly thoughtful given that Varenna is a town nestled on a hillside. They can pick you up and drop off anytime from either the train station or the ferry pier ! The location is also perfect—right across from the church and just a short walk to the romantic lakeside path. "We enjoyed the Bologna house. It was high up on the hill and could only get there by taxi or bus. Very seldom were we able to find an available taxi and the bus just drove past where we stayed. When we called the property manager and said we were having trouble getting rides, he hung up on us. Property was nice but not a place I would return to."

"The location is beautiful and quiet. It is next to restaurant that the hosts own (they will treat like family. I had one of my best restaurant experiences there) and was never disturbed with noise. "This is a spectacular hotel owned by two sisters with family members working there as well. The owners are there and constantly cleaning. They offer a nice breakfast every morning over looking beautiful Lake Como. Be prepared to walk down which is not bad, about 15-20 minutes through the beautiful village. It is the up hill if you have difficulties or just take breaks. Also, there is parking if you rent a car. If you walk, you end up at a great place called Bar Roma where you can rest, eat...
