"Wasnt clear how to check in, but rung in the morning and was advised to call to pub for room card. The room was very clean, and well presented. Can see they are looked after. Nice walk in shower with 2 separate heads. Plenty of storage for clothes etc. Bed was very comfortable and made for a great night sleep. The food served at the Pen Y Cae was amazing and all the staff we encountered throughout our stay were helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much bother for them. "

"Checked in slightly early and was no problem. I was also told I could use the pool faculties and so glad I did, beautiful pool and relaxing beds to read a book or chill afterwards. Bedroom very spacious and so quiet, this to me is very important as started work early the following day. Couldn’t make breakfast as left at 5am so they really kindly offered me a packed lunch, I stay away most weeks and have never been offered this before. "The hotel looks pretty tired from outside but rooms and reception area had been updated to an excellent standard. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices. Only slightly negative comment is that the breakfast was served in a large ball room which lacked atmosphere. A few flower arrangements separating the tables from the large dance floor would have made the difference."

"Easy to follow directions regarding checkin-check out. My room (2b) was large, with a big bed, and couch at the foot of the bed facing a TV and the floor to ceiling window. There was also a small dining table with two chairs. The bathroom was spacious with separate shower and bath. Everything worked and was clean. I think good value. The location was perfect, with walkable restaurants and bars close by. "

"We enjoyed our stay very much! The property owner obviously thought of every need one might have. From the towels to the tea to the nicely stocked breakfast. We had a wonderful view from 5B, a super bed and it was quiet. Along the stair landings were books, dog biscuits, wine corkscrews and even a sewing kit. A big thanks to Patrick. "
