"Gary was very friendly and helpful. He called on the day I was checking in to check on my arrival and also recommended places to eat. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is spacious but has a lot of cobwebs and some of the residents. The bedside is really convenient but I found someone else’s finger nails on it 😓 Breakfast the next morning was hearty and set me off to a good start. "

"Let down by small things! I'd stay at the Old Ship again. Switched room mid-stay at venue's request, but I was okay with that. Comfortable beds and great linen. Both rooms were freshly painted and had been thoughtfully decorated.. However, neither bathroom had a shelf - awkward - and one room had only an overhead light. "Exactly what a boutique B&B should be. Exceptional service - great location- we had the balcony room with a view of the beach- would highly recommend the upgrade. Short walk to town & harbour area. Accurately listed on expedia. Thoughtfully decorated - loved the elclectic book selection in the room . Breakfast just fabulous. Jonathan was a great host - very helpful with restaurant recommendations and things to do. Made for a great anniversary weekend."

"Really enjoyed our stay at the Brace of Pheasants. A down to earth but high quality pub and restaurant serving delicious food and real ale from casks behind the bar. As a guest we had use of a downstairs lounge which was lovely to relax in. Breakfast was delicious, focused mainly around the traditional English with bread and granola if desired. Plenty of walks in the area and would definitely stay again. "
