"Lovely quiet and secluded. The area around the lodge is absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast and dinner were lovely as well. We used the lodge as our base for a couple of days of hiking in Connemara and it was perfect! The only issue we had was our room was too hot and we couldn’t find a thermostat to lower the heating, opening windows was not really an option because of insects."

"The Inn is beautiful! The only negative I have is the lack of air conditioning and /or ceiling fans in guest rooms. The windows are set up to open only about an inch. This does not allow for air flow. Very stuffy "

They have a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel, you do have to make a reservation but we were able to easily make a reservation when we arrived to the hotel. "Stayed here for a week as a base to mooch around Mayo where my family roots are. Hotel decor is a little tired here and there but that did not affect our enjoyment or not make hotel VFM. Lots of friendly local/Irish staff, which I think helps to add warmth to the atmosphere and is perhaps unusual for this size of hotel - perhaps because of Westport’s size? Food is great.
