Within walking distance from the home, you’ll find an endless network of National Forest trails, perfect for walks, runs, and bike rides in the summertime. A 2-minute drive, or a short walk, takes you to Patton Beach, a dog-friendly beach great for swimming. Near Patton Beach, you’ll discover more entertainment and dining options such as the famous Garwoods Bar and Grill, offering wonderful lakefront dining; CB’s Bistro and Pizza for family dinners; Magic Carpet Mini Golf and Arcade for the little ones; and a 7-11 for all your late-night needs. The beautiful Carnelian West Beach, another excellent swimming spot, is just a few minutes' drive from the home.
In the winter months, you’re only 14 minutes from Northstar, 22 minutes from Alpine Base Area at Palisades Tahoe, and 10 minutes from the Tahoe City Nordic Center, which has a huge network of trails for XC skiing or snowshoeing. The nearby National Forest trails are also ideal for enjoying XC skiing and snowshoeing during the winter. If you prefer a little less physical activity, Tahoe City is just a 12-minute drive west, and Kings Beach is 7 minutes east. Both offer sandy beaches, farmers' markets, major grocery stores, golf courses, boutique shopping, waterfront parks, and a variety of bars and restaurants. A 10-minute drive takes you to the Nevada state line, where you’ll find casinos and concert venues. This home is the perfect launching pad for any Lake Tahoe experience!
Getting Around: This centrally located home, situated off HWY 28 and within walking distance of two public transportation stops, allows you to comfortably get by without a vehicle. The TART stop at HWY 28 near Sierra Boat Co, less than half a mile from the home, takes you to locations such as Kings Beach. A second TART stop, located at HWY 28 near Old P.O. Coffee Shop, offers a short bus ride to Tahoe City. From there, you can easily connect to other destinations at the Tahoe City Transit Center, including buses to Northstar California Resort. The home is also near a Night Rider bus stop; please note that the Night Rider operates seasonally.
If you have a vehicle, you’ll appreciate the convenience of being close to HWY 28, offering quick access to the surrounding areas. Tahoe City is less than a 15-minute drive away, and you're just minutes from the Nevada state line. Patton Beach is only a 2-minute drive, and Kings Beach is a 7-minute drive away. In the winter, you will be centrally located for skiing, with a 25-minute drive or less to three of the area's top ski resorts: Northstar, Squaw Valley, and Tahoe Nordic Cross Country Center. Tahoe also offers Uber, Lyft, and several taxi services.

Tennis courts are available seasonally but currently lack lighting, and the lodge is open daily with hours depending on staffing, offering equipment like bocce balls, volleyballs, and an outdoor ping pong area for sign-out. Please note, there is no barbecue area available for renters.
Charcoal grills are strictly forbidden in this county and will result in a $1,500 citation if used.
4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.
