Today it is a country park run by Neath Port Talbot Council and has many family attractions (petting farm, miniature railway and many trails to walk. There are even the remains of an 11th century abbey on the site to explore. The "castle" is actually a comfortable Victorian era country house, one of many "mock" castles built in the 19th century during the Gothic Revival. The cottage was very convenient for tourist attractions around Swansea, Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons. The internet connection was poor and this included the TV. The property is old and would benefit from some serious professional decorating and carpet fitting. That said, you get what you pay for and this was an inexpensive solution for us as a last minute break, and we were comfortable enough and warm.
