Combing a mixture of beautiful original and contemporary features, making it a perfect getaway for guests wanting to combine a central location with style, quality & comfort. You also have the added bonus of use of a roof terrace. Sip a glass of local wine whilst taking in the panoramic views of the castle, the Pyrennes mountains and the surrounding countryside, or put your feet up on one of the sun loungers and soak up the mediterranean sun. Situated on the second floor of three in a 18th Century building, Apartment Carnot is one of three privately owned apartments. Gaze out from the large windows across Place Carnot's tree lined square and beautiful fountain. Sit at one of Place Carnot's cafes or restaurants watching the world go by, or pop down to the vibrant food market on Place Carnot for fresh handmade cheeses, local olives, meats, pastries & breads. French life on your doorstep! There is also a choice of supermarkets within minutes walk, bicycle hire, boat trips on the canal du midi and the railway station (5 minutes walk) for those wanting to venture further afield. If you feel like a swim, Carcassonne has it's very own manmade beach with beautiful alpine surroundings. Only a short bus ride away.This apartment would suit couples wanting everything on hand without the need of a car, yet having the ease to venture further afield. Our property is new to HomeAway, but we are top rated on Tripadvisor and Airbnb, where you can read our reviews.

We loved our stay in the apartment. It was very clean, and the central location was perfect for exploring the area. Being so close to the square added a real sense of authenticity to our visit, while all the key spots were within easy walking distance. The station was also conveniently nearby. The hosts were excellent—friendly, helpful, and informative throughout our stay. All instructions were communicated clearly and made everything seamless from start to finish. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

Roof terrace in Carcasonne

Property was ideally situated overlooking Place Carnot, convenient to all amenities. Apartment is spacious and light-filled, well equipped and comfortable. The roof terrace with a spectacular view of La Cité was a great bonus, terrific for an apéro.

This apartment is in a great area. Near many restaurants. We were able to walk from the train station to the apartment and also we were able to walk to the castle. I very much appreciated how easy it was to communicate with the owners. We also enjoyed a glass of wine on the roof top terrace with a view of the castle. An excellent experience!

Large and beautiful apartment

We enjoyed out stay . Bed was wonderful. The apartment is comfortable. Our issue was the stairs up the apartment. Narrow and difficult to carry luggage up. For guests with mobility difficulties this can be a challenge.

Great stay close to city centre and La Cite!

We had a wonderful time! We loved being able to look out over La Cite from the rooftop and open the window to look out over Place Carnot! Instructions for parking and check in/out from the host were extremely helpful—everything went smoothly! We also enjoyed the farmers market and assembling our own meals with fresh, local ingredients before heading downstairs for a cocktail at Place Carnot. And can’t forget how much fun it was to play a game of Carcasonne while looking out at the grand medieval fortress itself!

Carcassonne Getaway

Loved the apartment! Quirky layout, artsy, Bohemian vibe all lent to an enjoyable stay. On second floor (third floor in US) off a lovely square (Neptune fountain) with several restaurants and in a neighborhood of lovely shops. Supermarket a few doors away. Walking distance to the Citadel- just over a mile. Enjoyed the view from the rooftop as night fell to get a photo of the Citadel. Nicely maintained and furnished apartment. Well equipped. We’d gladly stay there again!

Très bien !

Appartement atypique, très charmant et très bien situé pour visiter la Bastide et la cité médiévale. Petite place avec tous les commerces utiles au pied de l'appartement et le toit terrasse avec vue sur la cité est un réel petit plus ! Les échanges avec les propriétaires se sont faits par SMS et email et à chaque fois avec clarté et courtoisie. Je recommande, très bonne adresse !

Great Location for Bastide and La Cite

Owners were extremely helpful and prompt with replies and allowed us to check in a little earlier as the apartment was ready. Apartment has everything one could need. Location is very close to Place Carnot and anyone sleeping on the pull out couch will have to put up with street noise. Apartment is perfect for a couple and the bedroom is not affected by noise. Note: There is a steep narrow stairs to the apartment and again to the roof terrace so persons with mobility problems should bear this in mind. All said, I would stay there again and recommend it to friends.
