Pine Manor Estates boasts 12 Guest Homes and the Van Zandt Guest House is one of our guest favorites. Clad in charming red brick and just steps away from Pine Manor Gazebo, this waterfront home features four bedrooms, three baths, and a powder room. This home is ideal for the family who wants to get away and experience seclusion while being close to everything!

Our first-floor master bedroom features a luxurious king bed and a large desk for working. A beautiful ensuite bathroom with a spacious shower and jacuzzi tub makes this room close to perfect. The view of the lake from the bedroom windows is an added benefit.

There are two additional bedrooms on the main floor that both boast queen beds with luxurious mattresses and bedding. These two bathrooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom. The final queen bedroom is located 1/2 story upstairs and has an ensuite bathroom with shower.

Guests of Pine Manor Estates find the Van Zandt Guest House exceedingly comfortable and intriguingly familiar. Perhaps it's the charming red brick exterior, or the way the light at sunset meets the lakeside back porch that stirs the notion of a storybook retreat. Accommodations include four suites with king and queen beds, 3.5 baths, a living room, kitchen, formal dining room, and laundry to ensure the comfort of every guest.

Guests are free to take a stroll through the Estate or rent a golf cart to buzz around. Walkers and runners enjoy the privacy and the local-traffic only streets. The Pine Manor Estates staff is available when needed, but never intrude on guest privacy. Our goal is to make your stay relaxing, refreshing, and memorable.

When staying at the Van Zandt Guest House, you will want to be sure to see all that Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest have to offer. Whether you want to visit one or several of our 12 local wineries or be more adventurous and try the Shawnee Zip Line through the forest, there's something for everyone while staying here.

Giant City State Park and the ecclectic town of Makanda are just minutes away. Drive through the park and experience the breath-taking beauty of the Southernmost Illinois rock formations or grab a picnic table and enjoy lunch by the creek. For the more adventurous, try your hand at rock climbing or walking the paths of the rocky terrain. And don't forget to stop in the shops of Makanda where local artisans never fail to disappoint.

Some other must-see locations include Cedar Lake, Garden of the Gods, Kentucky Lake, Burden Falls and so much more. Whether you love hiking, fishing, hunting, bicycling, horseback riding, or simply relaxing, Southernmost Illinois has something for everyone!

Beautiful Home - inside and out

We were really impressed by the elegant home and impeccable surroundings of the Pine Manor. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of seating area for 8 people. We loved the screened in porch overlooking the pond! We will definitely be back!

Excellent trip!

This trip was a lot of fun... the grounds were beautiful as was the Van Zant house. We swam, cooked out, played tennis, paddle boarded around the lake and relaxed with the grandkids... will come again!

The house was beautiful!

I rented the home for my sisters and I for 3 days for some relaxation. We really enjoyed the atmosphere the Home was beautiful loved that we all had our own bathroom. The manager was very nice that we communicated with. would recommend it highly! Will look to rent it again my daughter rented from the same manager last year, one of her other homes, they loved it too

Nice house loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay. House is beautiful very clean had everything you needed and more. We also enjoyed the enclosed back porch overlooking the pond. Was great to sit out and drink morning coffee and evening too. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Quiet Stay

We had stayed at the Pine Manor properties two years ago and chose them again (different house) this time around. Our complete family of five adults and two children had plenty of room and we were able to host a lunch gathering for extended family members who live in the area. The neighborhood is quiet, the beds are comfy, and the amenities are great. We enjoyed our stay a lot. I would definitely recommend this property!

Family Getaway

We enjoyed this house! It was my husband, toddler, my parents and my sister. There was room for everyone and the house was spacious. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and the view of the pond. My toddler liked having her own room and we even used the pool. Great place and very comfortable!

Last Minute Moms Away

7 girlfriends and I had our original reservations cancelled on us last minute and found this property by sheer coincidence while scurring to find ANYTHING within our dates. It was much further than we had wanted but the pictures and description sold us and we decided to make the 5 hour drive. OMG! Best decision ever. The house was gorgeous. The pool was amazing. The lake and float boat were so much fun. We only stayed 3 nights and really had no need to leave the property and still could agree enjoyed another night or two there FOR SURE. So relaxing and still SO much fun. Betsy was so accommodating and quick to reply and help with whatever we needed. We can not wait to go back and check out the other homes on the grounds. Absolutley stunning. Only thing I wish we would have known... reserve golf carts ahead of time if you plan on using them! Highly recommended pine lake manor properties!

Family wedding weekend

Sure happy we chose this property to stay at while attending our daughters wedding in Carbondale. House was wonderful and the property manager was awesome. She even helped us find a place to take wedding pictures when plans changed the last minute. Thanks Betsy! Stay here....you will be glad you did.
