North Captiva Island provides a true island experience with no roads to the island. Get to the island by a short hourly water ferry ride or private charter. No cars and no roads...nothing but sandy trails with electric golf carts as transportation (cart included).

THE PERKS: Launch your kayak (provided) steps from the front door on the private bay beach. Dock is available just a few steps from the front door, so bring your boat. Safety Harbor heated pool is included! Private, exclusive beach access to one of the most beautiful stretches of beach on the island and a beach-front gazebo is just minutes from the property. 3-4 minute golf cart ride to sugar-sand Gulf of Mexico beaches. Enjoy panoramic views from the two Safety Harbor Club lookout towers!

PERSONAL CONCIERGE: Your on-island property manager and personal concierge, Jennifer Parker, will assist with the logistics of traveling to the island so that you can focus on the excitement of your upcoming true island experience! On arrival to the island, you will be greeted by Jennifer and her concierge team and they will transport you and your luggage and groceries to The Lazy Palm (unless you requested the kitchen be pre-stocked--highly recommended!). Jennifer's team will give you a private tour of the island, help familiarize you with The Lazy Palm, and will be only a phone call or text away during your stay.

YOUR PIECE OF PARADISE: Enjoy sunrise views and the sights and sounds of sea birds soaring over the bay while you sip a cup of coffee on the front screened-in deck. Watch the boats come and go from the nearby docks in Safety Harbor. Lounge in the open-plan living room with vaulted ceilings and watch the pelicans and seagulls fly gently by through the floor-to-ceiling windows. This 3-bedroom and 2-bath townhouse includes two screened outdoor sitting areas and a picnic table with a grill on the ground floor. Sit back and relax in the comfy leather sofas and sleep soundly in any of the three dreamy, island-themed bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is loft style with a ceiling that slopes from stand-up to about 4 feet. This townhouse boasts gorgeous hardwood floors, newer windows to take in all the views, and a fun, harbor theme throughout that ensures you are immersed in the tropical experience of the island for every single minute of your stay. During the day, cruise around in the included golf cart and explore the barrier island paradise that is North Captiva Island. The island has no roads to it, so you can relax to the sounds of nature with no car noise. From this townhouse, the beach is a short 3-4 minute golf cart ride away. On your ride to the beach, you will drive on quiet, sandy roads lined with luscious tropical plants, palm trees, and bright, beautiful flowers. You might even see one of the island's endangered gopher tortoises! Enjoy miles of white, sugar-sand beaches, warm, salty gulf waters with gentle waves, and a natural preserve on the southern tip of the island.

Great location for boaters and fishermen

The townhouse was steps from the dock where we tied up the boat. Easy in, easy out. We caught 5 tarpon and several sharks in the pass. We’ll be back.

Lovely condo that is well maintained with great location. Family of 5 women returning to No. CAPTIVA TO restore our spirits after our long Midwest Winters. Provides Gulf waters, sands and delightful shelling! Recommend for all interested in relaxing vacation!

Loved the Lazy Palm!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on North Captiva and at The Lazy Palm. It was our first trip to the island and we just loved it! The view/sunrise from the patio was amazing! We found everything we needed for our stay at the Lazy Palm and it was very clean and very comfortable. Perfect location! Jenny our concierge was the best! She was always quick to reply and went out of her way to assist us. We are already talking about next year!

Wonderful stay

We had such a wonderful vacation, thank you! The unit is as wonderful as it appears in pictures, not sure what else I can say there....everything just matched or exceeded expectations and we can't wait to come back. The concierge (Jen) was so nice and helpful, and only a text away if anything comes up. We definitely want to stay in this unit again, and really like the Safety Harbor complex that looks out onto the water of that side of the island; I'm sure the Gulf views are amazing, too, but this side of the island and water is just beautiful as well.

This property had everything you could possibly need. The host was lovely. The beds were comfy. Minute walk to the beach and manatees. Fun! Relaxing! People on the island treated is so friendly not like tourists. We will be back. Love love love this property!

Perfection in paradise

Perfect location and great stay for our family of 3. We brought our boat and the dock was maybe 20 steps from the front door which was great. Nice cold AC, fully stocked kitchen. We loved sitting on the screened in patio for dinner (no mosquitoes!). The community pool is close by and the beach access on the gulf was maybe a 2 minute golf cart ride. Golf cart was in great shape. Our daughter used both bedrooms upstairs, one as her playroom and one as her bedroom and she loved it up there. Washer and dryer worked great, so did dishwasher and stove. We kept the ice trays full, refilled 3 times a day and kept the surplus of ice in our cooler for frosty beverages- plenty of ice the whole time. Jennifer was super helpful before, during, and after our trip! We will back to the lazy palm- we want to buy it someday!

Had a great time staying at this property!! North Captiva is always so relaxing. I’ll start with all the positives first. Jenny the property manager was great and super helpful! The location is awesome as it is right next to safety harbor. This made the view from balcony that was next to the kitchen just outstanding. Any time we weren’t on the beach we were sitting on the balcony, reading, working crosswords, and just talking. To me this balcony was by far the best thing about the house. The washer and dryer in the unit are also very nice and work well. The things that I did not like so much.... the kitchen is way smaller than the pictures make it look so just be prepared for that. There needs to be a few more pans for the oven in my opinion. The ice situation is something else that could also be addressed. There were just two ice trays in the house and with 6 people using ice for coolers, drinks, and water it ran out really fast. We had to resort to some different measures to create ice such as filling up metal bowls with water and then freezing them. Maybe consider getting some more ice trays?? The golf cart was also verrrryyy slow. When I stayed on the island last year the house I rented had a much more normal speed golf cart. Lastly the 3rd bedroom is more like an attic than a bedroom. If you are taller than 5’7 then you probably cannot stand up in the room. None of these things would discourage me from renting this unit again. I loved my time there and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on N. Captiva. Listed above were just the minor inconveniences that occurred that if were fixed would lead to an even more enjoyable time! Already thinking about booking again for next year...

I wouldn’t stay in this unit again

North Captiva Island is great fun and I would like to go back someday but I wouldn’t stay in this unit again. First of all the deceiving wide angle panoramic shots of this condo make it look roomy and spacious, it is not. It is listed as a three bedroom unit but the third bedroom has a low sloped ceiling so that one person in our party of three literally banged her head on the ceiling every time she climbed in or out of bed. This third bedroom does not have a closet or dresser for clothing. Additionally when the DVD and dishwasher did not operate and our bathroom towels felt like cardboard the owner’s response was to tell us that we probably should’ve booked a resort and suggested we vacate the premises on day three of a five day vacation. In summary Instead of graciously fixing the problems the owner, Desiree Wilson who is also listed as the Realtor, chose to receive a poor review versus trying to resolve the problems.

Perfect quiet getaway

We loved our one week stay at the Lazy Palm! There was a master suite on the main level with a full bath. Two bedrooms with 3 beds and a bathroom upstairs. Satellite TVs in the family room and all bedrooms. Gas grill and kitchen had all of the utensils and equipment we needed to make meals. Rental included a golf cart (must have for the island). Property managers were very responsive and picked up at the dock. They also provided us with the resources to make sure wr had groceries and ferry transportation to the island . Beaches were quiet and perfect. Rental also included access to quiet community pool. Thank you for a great family vacation!

Great location with harbor views!

We had such a great stay at the Lazy Palm. We were here for almost a week and Desiree has so many extras for you to enjoy at the house. Plenty of beach towels, beach toys, everything in the kitchen you need to cook your meals, and we thought all the beds were very comfortable. The location is amazing, great view of the harbor, and close to boat docks. Would definitely stay here again and hope to soon!

Truly enjoyed The Lazy Palm and went kayaking every day

Had a wonderful week at The Lazy Palm ! The property was exactly as listed, clean and came with very helpful things like the washer & dryer, supplies and the golf cart. Communication with the host/owner was very pleasant and effective. We felt welcomed and well taken care of. The overall organization with their onsite property management worked well. We went kayaking all around North Captiva/Cayo Costa etc and The Lazy Palm was the perfect location for us (about 50yards to launch our kayaks). Very close to the 3 restaurants on the island, Over the Waterfront was our favorite ! The island itself is gorgeous and ideal to get away from it all. We will definitely return to The Lazy Palm for our next kayaking adventure. Desiree – thank you very much !

Even better than we hoped!

We took a leap and jumped into a stay on North Captiva Island with no idea what we were getting into. We are happy to report it was an excellent experience for our family!! Desiree made us feel welcome at her amazing condo long before we arrived. She offered tips and ideas and helped us navigate uncharted vacation waters. The home is well appointed, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for us and our two 6 ft+ teenage boys. We all loved eating breakfast on the deck each day with the MOST lovely view of Safety Harbor. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Beds and bath linens were clean and comfy. Desiree provided beach towels , quality beach chairs , coolers-- everything we needed to make a day of it in the sand. There is also a private pool -- just a short walk from the condo, in a lush and peaceful location. Perfect for "happy hour " (BYO) with friends. The golf cart was in good working order and the battery never died ( it was happening to friends who were renting condos from other owners in this complex). The grocery ordering is a little daunting-- but the property manager is generally good about answering questions. The restaurants are good, but a little pricey ( warning- gratuity is included on each bill. We almost double tipped on our first outing. ) , so, have a plan for some meals "at home", and order groceries accordingly. We had to ask our property manager a few times for items, and our groceries were late on the first day. We attribute this to arriving in peak spring break season. It IS an island, so it's important to pack some patience, as there will be glitches. Overall, it was our first vacation since before COVID, and it was the perfect location for a remote, non-crowded, peaceful get-away in which we could relax, unwind, and have some quality family time -- doing as much or as little as we chose to do. Thanks Desiree ! We hated to leave and would love to come back sometime!

Perfect Beach Getaway

What a fantastic trip we had to North Captiva and the Lazy Palm! It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing family vacation while still socially distancing from others. We loved the location of the Lazy Palm and were treated to the gorgeous sunrise right from our porch. The condo was clean, comfortable and just the right size for our family of four. It was an easy walk or golf cart ride to various beaches and restaurants. The shelling and wildlife (dolphins, manatees, gopher tortorise and so many beautiful birds) did not disappoint! The owners provided everything we needed for the beach and the condo was well stocked. The owner and property managers were all very responsive and easy to work with. We hated to leave this beautiful quiet island and will definitely return!! Thank you for the memories!

Clean and Cute

Pros: Very clean, super cute townhouse, has everything you would need for a beach day, coolers, beach chairs, towels, beach toys and there are even tennis racquets and balls to use at the tennis courts. The pool at the Safety Harbor Club is a nice size and was very quiet and relaxing. There were puzzles, books and magazines at the house for our enjoyment. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast every morning. We loved eating our breakfast on the screened in porch, with a view of the water. Cons: It was difficult to get ahold of the property management company when our golf cart didn't work the first night and we almost missed dinner. The next day, the golf cart still didn't work, after charging all night, and they didn't bring us a new one until 5pm. The listing said check out needed to be done by 11am; so I booked a later ferry ride back to Pine Island. The property management company texted that the cleaning crew would be in at 9am and we needed to be out before that. When I mentioned the 11am checkout time in the listing and asked if we could check out any later, the property management company ignored my request. The mattresses are very, very firm. Some people might prefer that; but I thought others might like to know.
