The Space:
Doublemint features the historic charm of a classic Cape Charles home with a modern coastal twist! This 1910 historic home is located right in the middle of Town, just a short walk to shops, restaurants, and of course, the beautiful beach.

The downstairs has an open layout, creating a bright and functional space. Enter the main living area to a combination living and dining room with a table perfect for entertaining the whole family. The 9' ceilings and widened doorways make this living area feel larger than life! The kitchen is a highlight with brand new appliances, eye catching wallpaper, and shiplap.

Escape upstairs to three bedrooms, each with airy and light colors to help you relax even further on your vacation. The master suite is full of natural light and includes a full bath and a luxurious queen-sized bed. A full bath separates the remaining two bedrooms; one with a queen and the other with two twin beds and adorable wallpaper that is perfect for children.

The backyard houses a shed full of beach gear for your enjoyment and an outdoor shower. Come in from the back door to a mudroom nook, complete with a washer/dryer, bench, and hooks to hang up your beach towels and bags before entering the main area of the house.

Guest Access:
We offer convenient door codes for self-check-in. Chesapeake Properties by Portoro uses convenient keyless entry for self check-in, details provided 2 weeks (or less) prior to arrival by email and text message.

• Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.

Noted on the National Register of Historic Places, Northampton County's Cape Charles offers one of the largest concentrations of turn-of-the-century buildings on the East Coast. The historic district and small-town atmosphere create a serene and inviting community. Enjoy the history and experience galleries, boutiques, bookshops, and beautiful beach! Cape Charles Town Beach is the only free public beach on the Easter Shore of Virginia.

Cape Charles is located near the southern tip of Virginia’s Eastern Shore right on the Chesapeake Bay. Cape Charles is a small town (the historic area is roughly a six block by six block square) that sits on the peninsula’s western coast… meaning you can sit on the beach in Cape Charles and watch the sunset right over the water. On the Chesapeake Bay, not the Atlantic Ocean, the water is calm and shallow. The picturesque town of Cape Charles is filled with Americana, all about family and beautiful surroundings, voted one of the Happiest Seaside Towns by Coastal Living. Let the beach be your playground! Check out the walkable retail district, schedule a tee time at one of Bay Creek's award-winning golf courses, or take a water adventure for fishing and cruising.

- All guests staying at an Chesapeake Properties Vacation Rentals by Portoro (Portoro Homes) are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration.
- Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age.
- Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Chesapeake Properties by Portoro directly.
- Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.
- Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival.
- Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.
- We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night.
- Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only.
- HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: In the State of Virginia and in Northampton County, all hotel and vacation rental hosts are required to collect hotel tax. We collect these taxes within the booking transaction.
- Some homes offer pools/hot tubs, or access to communal pools. There is no guard around the water features when available. Use at your own risk.
- This is a No Pets property. A daily rate fee of $150.00 will apply for violations and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.
- This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.

Interaction with Guests:
Our goal is that your vacation exceed your expectations. Chesapeake Properties by Portoro communicates via email and phone. After a booking is confirmed, rental agreement will be emailed to the guest for e-signature. Check-in instructions are sent by email and text message 14 days (or less) prior to arrival date. We offer convenient keyless entry for self-check in. We do typically check in with guests by text 1-2 times during their stays to ensure a 5-star experience and remain available for any questions. We are available to guests 24/7 for any inquiries.

My best friend and I took our daughters (ages 4, 7, and 8) to Cape Charles for vacation. This was the perfect place to stay! We are already planning to take a trip back there!!

The home is absolutely gorgeous! I would recommend renting with younger kids. The whale room doesn’t have room for much luggage, so it was perfect for my little ones!! I’ve emailed a few times about the property and haven’t heard back. There is only one tv in the house on the main floor if that is a factor for your family! The location can’t be beat. You can walk to the playground/fields, or be on Mason Ave within a couple blocks. We loved our short stay here!

This was a lovingly renovated charming house, easily walkable to both town and beach. Open floor plan, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms made for a very enjoyable stay. Management company was very responsive both before and during our stay, even in off-hours. Would definitely rent this charmer again.

Such a lovely home with an easy walk to shops and the beach. It also had everything you could need for an enjoyable beach vacation (we loved that it was clearly well thought out by parents...step stools for the bathroom sinks, beach toys, and even a first aid kit!). The house is lovely and was clean and quiet. We definitely want to return in the summertime to get some swimming in!

We will be coming back, but only if we can stay here! Not only was the place clean, welcoming, and well-appointed, but its location was perfect! Walking distance to the shops, a couple of restaurants, and the Park and only a few blocks from the beach. Personally, I immediately felt at home and relaxed here and reserving the place and getting in was a breeze.

We loved our week at Doublemint! The house itself is adorable and super well designed. There are lots of conveniences like a keypad back entry, available pack and play and high chair for little ones, noise machines, beach chairs, foot wash outside, etc. It's really 2 very comfortable bedrooms and one small "bunkroom". it fit my 8 year old perfectly, but would be snug for an adult:) Overall, a great size for a small family, and an awesome location right in town. Highly recommend, and we'd love to come back!
