Perfect for families with children; And for Two Families to Rent Side-by-side! We offer BOTH mirror image sides of our vacation rental duplex, 303 and 305 Strawberry Street. We recently purchased this duplex and plan to continue the history of making memories for families for years to come! This 1925 duplex has beautiful soft light from tall windows and a great dining room to gather. Couples, small groups of friends, and families who want to slow down, go to the beach and the park, and relax in this walk-able small town should feel right at home.
Each side has 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths - they are similar bot not identical. The atmosphere is sunny coastal with style-conscious kitchen and baths. The property has a fenced-in small yard with deck with table and 4 chairs, upscale grill, outdoor shower, and some beach gear for your convenience.
Our property is conveniently located at the crossroads of Cape Charles - an easy walk to "downtown", the beach, and across the street from Central Park. The duplex has a covered porch to enjoy your coffee in the morning overlooking the park and a back deck with table/chairs, umbrella and new gas grill, overlooking the fenced-in back yard with outdoor shower. The kitchen is newly equipped with upscale dishes and serving pieces if you like to entertain, Keurig coffee maker, electric and stovetop teapots. The kitchen also has a high chair, or youth chair if the tray is removed, plus children's dishes are provided.
WiFi internet is provided and a new 40" flat screen. We've added a few DVDs, games, and books in the dining room bookshelf, along with a few toys/puzzles.
Bedrooms: 1 with a king size bed, 1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 twin-size beds. Linens provided by a linen service.
There is an outdoor shower and small, fenced-in back yard. Beach gear that is provided to lighten the load of your travel here includes: 4 beach chairs and beach cart. Sometimes guests have left their purchases, e.g., fishing poles and crab nets, rather than take them home. There is a stacking washer-dryer in the kitchen. For dog(s) approved in advance, dog bed is provided. A pet cleaning fee is charged for approved dogs. An additional cost of cleaning any furniture and bed spreads will be retained from your security deposit if the fur is found on the furniture and beds.
Cape Charles is embraced by water on three sides: commercial town harbor and yacht center (south), public beach (west), and marina (north). It's a wonderful setting if you love the water! Park Place is 3 blocks from the beach (Bay Ave.) and 2 blocks from the shops on main street (Mason Ave.). We are a mile from Bay Creek's two signature golf courses by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, with top ratings by Golf Digest. The area promotes eco-tourism opportunities, including kayaking (even kayak/wine-tasting trips to a local winery), fishing off the town pier, hiking, and birding. You can rent jet skis at the harbor, bicycles, and golf carts. The town often has festivals, planned recreational activities for children and adults, and sometimes shows, movies, or live bands in the Park. The Eastern Shore Birding and Wildlife Festival in early October - fall weather is great here! Festive Fridays for shopping and Christmas treats are held the month of December on Mason Avenue. Year-round, Cape Charles has live theater performed by Arts Enter and others at the Palace Theater, art galleries, a Brown Dog ice cream shop, ladies upscale consignment, and beautiful spa to name a few of the attractions in town! We have good eateries and, if you like nostalgia, be sure to stop by the lunch counter at Rayfield's pharmacy at the corner of Mason Ave. and Fig. Street. Cape Charles Medical Center is located on Mason Ave. too.

You can tell this property is well maintained. The kitchen had new appliances and was well stocked with everything you need to cook except food! The linens were fresh and the rooms were clean. This VBRO is 3 blocks from Mason street and 3 blocks from the beach. Best of all, you can walk everywhere! Great location, I'll definitely come back.

Our stay at the Strawberry Twins [303] was wonderful. We had a little bad weather from Hurricane Erin, but overall it was a great week! We got to enjoy putting a couple of puzzles together! Beds were very comfy! I was most impressed with the thought that was put into stocking this rental. I don’t believe I have ever seen such attention paid! It really makes all the difference. Check in process was just as stated in email. No problem whatsoever. I did kinda freak when we went in. I thought maybe the heat pump wasn’t cooling properly, but I reacted too early. It’s was a very very hot day arriving and it took just a little while to cool. The temp inside the house was wonderful!!! I absolutely loved the park across the street. It is so beautiful! We even caught the live music on Saturday night. Overall the week was relaxing, exciting, and comfy!!!

Wonderful stay at the Twins on Strawberry Street! The space was perfect for our family of 4, and all of the extra amenities (beach chairs, wagon, cooler, sand toys) made our daily beach outings so easy! The location across from the park was great, especially for the Saturday night summer concert. What a treat! Well stocked home, seamless check-in and check-out, great communication with host.

We had a wonderful stay here! The house is in an ideal location for a family and very comfortable with all of the basic necessities provided. We could walk to the beach with the dog in the mornings, walk downtown for dinner or ice cream, and of course right across to the park to play and we even caught the Saturday night concert in the park! We loved the outdoor shower for after the beach as well. The house is historic, which gives it beautiful charm with some well done updates, but still has some quirks that show its age. Our only disappointment were some broken things such as the beach carts, the blinds in a few rooms, and a few cosmetic things. However, we would certainly stay here again!

Perfect size house for a cozy vacation
My family and I just returned from cape Charles and strawberry street! The house has everything we needed for a perfect stay! A little hiccup with a lock to the shed was immediately responded to and resolved! The kitchen is well stocked, plenty of room for my family to spread out and also hang out! The location was perfect and the fenced in yard was well enjoyed by our dog!

Quiet retreat & Excellent location
Wonderful weekend getaway to the quaint and quiet town of Cape Charles. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the location was excellent-right across the street from the park, walkable to the town and the beach made it highly convenient! The house itself was a bit worn but well kept and spacious enough for our family of five and our dog. Overall, lovely stay and would recommend.

Great location
This home is located in a great spot directly across from the park playground and splash fountain. We could easily take out young kids there daily. The fenced in yard was great for kids and our dog. The kitchen was well stocked, the only down side to the home is the flooring is slanted in a couple spots. If that bothers you it may not be the best home, but to us it was fine being an older home and all. The originsL features were great! We would come back.

First time to Cape Charles
It was a perfect place for our family of 5. The park is right across the street. It is a very short walk or golf cart ride to get a cup of coffee. Getting to the bay is a short ride by golf cart as well. Everything is so close in Cape Charles.

Cute spot, great location
We enjoyed our stay at Strawberry Street. The house is prime location for its proximity to the Central Park, beach and downtown! We did joke that the house might tip over, there is a significant lean, it’s especially noticeable in the bedrooms.
The house is simple but had everything we needed inside - and the shed outback had nice supplies for the beach as well!

Great in every way!
We had a great time in Cape Charles. The house was extremely well equipped and felt very spacious for our group of 2 adults and three kids. The outdoor shower was handy and we appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards that were provided. Central Park was right across the street and we easily walked to all the shops and restaurants. We did hear the neighbors on the other side of the duplex quite a bit - didn’t detract from our stay, just know that sound travels VERY easily!

Pet Friendly & Great Location
I had to book last minute and John was so nice and accommodating. The house was very clean. It’s in a perfect location facing the park and only a few blocks from the beach, shopping and restaurants. The weather was a little dreary and having a comfortable, well stocked home made up for that.

Just right
This was our first time vacationing in Cape Charles. The property had all the right things to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. John was very communicative and helpful when we had questions. The cleaning crew seemed to leave a few responsibilities behind upon our arrival but this was a minor thing to us and John was helpful to get everything squared away. The property itself is older so has the all charm of an older space, i.e. uneven, creaking but beautiful floors, noise traveling, but it didn't bother us much and we found it gives the place character. We enjoyed the kids toys supplied because any kid knows that other peoples' toys are better than theirs :) The park being across the street was great. They have a big playground, fields to run around, concerts on Saturday night, and a splash-pad fountain; all were a big hit. The only thing we found a little difficult with the property was the number of outlets in each room, which was exactly one. With two very small kiddos, we have lots to plug in (noise machines, monitors, "wake-to-rise" clocks, chargers), so we found this a little challenging. The property supplied extension cords and power strips to help but we still found it a bit hard. Overall, a wonderful week with all we needed. We will definitely vacation to Cape Charles next year and hope the Twins on Strawberry St. are available to rent again! Thanks John for a great stay!

Great, convenient location
The location was absolutely perfect! We rented a golf cart which made travel to the beach, shops, and restaurants extremely easy. In addition to the beach, our family enjoyed the lovely park across the street; great place to walk and for our granddaughter to play.
The owner has equipped the rental so nicely that you feel comfortable and at home!
