Welcome to Millie’s - Ruth. Cottages maintain their original 1970’s charm, now transformed into contemporary, comfortable gems with the best sunsets in all of Canyon Lake.

Currently Canyon Lake levels are at a historic low and lake access from Millie's is limited. Please visit the MyCanyonLake website for more information under the category of lakes and rivers.

Creature comforts include:
· One Queen bed and one Queen sofa sleeper. (Sleeps 4)
· Living area with dining table, couch, WiFi, Smart TV (bring your logins), games, puzzles, books, etc.
· A cozy kitchen including Galanz fridge/freezer, electric range/oven, microwave, coffee maker (of course), blender, toaster, dishes, drinkware, flatware, knives, cooking tools, bakeware, pot holders, BBQ tools, dish soap, first aid kit, and more. Customized Yeti cups are available for purchase if you’d like to take Millie’s home with you.
· Beautiful, full bath – including towels, hairdryers, and bathing suit hangers.
· Outdoor seating area including a charcoal BBQ pit (BYO - meat, veggies, charcoal and lighter fluid), picnic table, and chairs.
· 1 wagon/cottage and beach towels.
· Parking – 2 cars/cottage or 1 car and a boat maximum.
· Proximity to Canyon Lake Boat Ramp #17 (currently closed), Canyon Lake Dam, Brookshire Brothers Grocery, Gruene, shopping, restaurants, watercraft rentals and more.

As the property boasts the perfect combination of convenience and seclusion, wild things abound. We’ve seen those that slither, sting, stink, spray and graze so be aware of your surroundings and who you share it with.

Speaking of sharing – there will be other guests on the property with you in other cottages.

*The health and safety of our guests is paramount. Cleanliness is always our top priority. We offer a 24 hour guest service contact number for emergencies and messages will be answered promptly. Arrive after four o’clock when it is convenient for you with an easy and contactless check in and out process for our guests.

Parking was pretty narrow at the Ruth and under and around a lot of trees. Toilet had hardly any water flow to refill the tank and made it difficult to use with two people.Guest policy would prevent me from using this property unless we could get approval. Family lives close by and to be hit with a 500 fine to have them stop by for a visit would be a problem. There was a BBQ, Picnic Table and numerous outside chairs but no visitor could sit in them - weird. Overall the property met our needs and gives us an additional place to stay if we need it.

We stayed in the Ruth and it was the cutest little cottage. Very clean and quiet spot. My only complaint is the lack of water pressure in the shower but that won’t stop me from booking again for our next weekend get away.

Cute, convenient spot in Canyon Lake

We came to Canyon Lake for a wedding and this property was perfectly located to a lot of hot spots. It’s a cute spot. My only mild complaints were they could stand to replace the mattress (it’s very noisy and uncomfortable) and the shower pressure is extremely low. It made washing your hair quite difficult.

Cute spot for a quick stay

Cute room. I did not feel entirely safe. A deadbolt or extra lock would have been nice. It was clean but there were some drain flies in the bathroom. The cottages are cute for a nice overnight stay!

Tranquil Retreat

Cute little cottage nestled in the woods of Canyon Lake that was so peaceful & relaxing. We throughly enjoyed our stay! It was perfectly located near the wedding venue that we attended, and not far from Wildflour where we had brunch with delicious food!

Heavenly Property

This property is absolutely gorgeous! Of course we were sad that the drought has dried the lake in front of the cabins but it's all around you. We saw deer, rabbit, fox, raccoon and birds everywhere. The cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated! We had everything we needed. We spent 5 days and will definitely be back! This will be a favorite for us. I forgot the wild berries and there are hammocks between many of the Cypress trees.

Clean and Quaint

We really enjoyed this property. It was a great size for two people, and it could comfortably sleep four. The property managers communicated quickly and the check-in process was smooth. Everything was clean inside the unit. The property is close to a lot of parks and restaurants. I would say to add recent photos of the outside space - the water level of the lake is at an all-time low and it was not quite lakefront as seen in the pictures. More like a 10 minute trek and a lot more muddy than anticipated. The bed also creaked really badly to the point that we were worried it would break under our weight, so perhaps a new mattress or frame is in order. Overall, we had a great time!

Beautiful Cottage

We had a very pleasant stay. The cottage comfortably fit our family of 4, and everything was clean and well-maintained. We would love to come back when the lake is full. Lastly, the owner responded quickly to our questions via email, and our issue was handled swiftly. Thank you for a great stay!

Cons: Had trouble entering propery at checkin and had to call office for assistance because the code didn't work. Lake was so low you can walk on the old road that used to be submerged. The neighbor said they found bones from an old cemetery after the lake dried up. Was not aware it was that low!! Pretty scenery but little water. Saw teens "parking" on Friday night from our backyard. Pros: saw raccoons, deer! Had everything we needed, coffee, toiletries, towels, etc. Bottled water was appreciated. Close to town! Nice back porch. Would stay again if water was at normal levels.

Great trip

Water was extremely low but was still able to anchor the wave runner in the lake was a bit of a walk back to cabin. Cabin was nice would stay here again only suggestion would be to leave more then one trash bag for tenants and more then 1/2 roll of TP we have lots of garbage and nowhere to put it, had to run and get TP on day one. If I would have know would have brought some with us.

Excellent stay

This was our 2nd time to stay in Ruth and it was a great stay. The only thing I was sad about, no fault of the property management company, was the water levels are extremely low due to the drought. The lake was still enjoyable, just had to walk a little further. Again, this is no one’s fault, just know before you go that you may not be able to walk straight out and enjoy the water. The place is immaculate and is a very quiet location. We even got to meet and visit with a neighbor. We’ll definitely be back since we love this place so much!
