Our family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while staying at this house. It is the perfect location, beautiful setting and views, and large enough for our big family to spread out and have their own space. The kitchen is fully equipped and user friendly!!! We had such a good time using the kayaks, playing games, doing puzzles, and sitting by the river listening to music. Thank you for sharing your home!

The home was well appointed, good floor plan with two master bedroom suites with river views, excellent outside patio area and the views were spectacular. We had a wonderful experience and 3 couples did not feel cramped. We enjoyed watching red hawks and bard owls across the river. We’ve already booked again for the fall. We thought mattress toppers would make the beds more comfortable and the bathrooms need grab bars in tub/showers because the soft water makes the surfaces slippery.

Great home in a terrific location if you want to be tucked away, yet close to the lake, The Horseshoe, Gruene and not too far from New Braunfels. Terrific back yard with wide frontage on the river with shallow rapids that kept our kids so busy that they forgot about their iPads. We appreciated having access to fun yard games and 5 kayaks. (FYI - challenging but fun paddle down to the start of the horseshoe if you have a pickup truck and driver to meet you, but you will have to portage twice) The kitchen was equipped with upscale appliances and every needed utensil including a proper coffee maker, keurig and even a coffee press, but there were no spices in the pantry, so pack your own salt and pepper and anything else you may need. We figured this must be because the house was new as opposed to older properties with cupboards full of accumulated expired seasonings. We enjoyed the nice gas grill and fire pit with abundant firewood in the woodpile. Will definitely rent again!

The river was a huge hit and we all spent more time there than at Canyon Lake! The house was wonderfully provisioned and very nice. We had a group of 8 people and two dogs and it fit us all perfectly! Views from the master suites was phenomenal. Living room area/kitchen all open access and the views were unobstructed to the Guadalupe. We really enjoyed the fire pit down by the river with a big, beautiful tree overhead.The kayaks were a plus… super fun!There was even a hogwash in the laundry room.Overall, we had a perfect, peaceful weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We would definitely return, especially when you get that bottom finished Loved it!!

Perfect Riverfront Luxury

From the comfortable beds and furnishings to the well equipped kitchen, everything was perfect. The outdoor space offered a cozy deck with lots of seating, a fire pit and even kayaks. You can spend the day playing in the river or it’s close enough to explore nearby attractions in Wimbereley, New Braunfels or San Marcos. Honestly, we can’t say enough good things about our stay. We will definitely be back!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, spacious, and well appointed, with a large open kitchen and living area that was perfect for gathering. The bedroom layout was great, with two master suites, and the kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, bowls, knives, cups, a mixer, and other essentials.A few issues kept this from being a five-star stay. The biggest was the thermostat, which appeared to be programmed to automatically raise the temperature. With temperatures near 100 outside, we could not keep the house comfortably cool and found ourselves constantly overriding the pre-programmed settings throughout the day and night. Locking the thermostat within a reasonable range while allowing guests to choose a comfortable temperature would be a much better solution.We were also disappointed that guests could not use the lower level, since it provides the most convenient access to the backyard and river. Having to walk around from the front made the yard much less usable. The grill was also located at the front of the house instead on the top or bottom patio, leaving the person cooking separated from everyone else.Communication could have been better. Two messages either went unanswered or weren’t answered until the following day. One was about getting the back porch TV working so we could watch a World Cup match, but the response came too late to help.The mattress and pillows in the larger master suite weren’t our favorite, although that’s subjective.

Great House on the River

The house has a great layout with plenty of space inside and out to hangout. The outside deck areas are great for relaxing and listening to the birds and river. The kitchen has more than enough glassware and anything you would need to cook. The river is right out back with a nice spot to hangout. You can walk upstream and float down past the house and walk back. Gruene is a short drive away and fun to visit. We had pizza from wicked good pizza and would recommend. Wildflour bakery is a spot we always stop at while here. We have tried alot there and everything has been great. They have the best waffles! We have stayed at plenty other houses all along the river and this is our favorite one yet. We will be coming back!!

The kids had a blast as there were shallow parts of the river in front of the home and deeper parts not far away. Enjoyed having the kayaks available even if we didn't really use them. The incline down to the water was a little steep so just be aware if you have older folks joining you. 4 of the twin beds are in the living room (2 daybeds with trundles) so just know that people will be sleeping in a public space if you need those beds. Bring your own kitchen/hand towels (none provided) so we used lots of paper towels but not a big deal. I would LOVE to know if the downstairs area will be finished out by next year so we could bring more family!!

We made a point to contact management before check-in to confirm the condition of the property and were told there were no issues that would affect our stay. That turned out to be misleading and not true. When we arrived, the entire lower level of the home was under construction and completely unusable. This was never disclosed. The listing advertised the “entire home,” which creates a clear expectation—one that was not met. After raising the concern, management claimed that area was “not included,” but that is not how the property was presented.This had a direct impact on our stay. There was no functional access to the backyard or river—one of the primary reasons we booked. With no back stairs, the only way to reach the outdoor area was to exit through the front and walk all the way around, which is not reasonable for a property marketed this way.After our stay, we requested a small partial refund due to the misrepresentation and loss of use. That request was denied, with management maintaining that the space was never included or pictured. That response ignores the broader issue: the listing created a materially inaccurate and deceptive impression of the property.Additionally, the street is dominated by short-term rentals, and EVERY NIGHT there was persistent late-night noise and loud music during our stay--this is not a quiet or relaxing environment.Taken together—undisclosed construction, lack of access to key features, and noise—the experience was awful!
