The stronghold of Fortress Cabin takes its name for the centerpiece of its view gazing at the Fortress Cliffs along the east rim of Palo Duro Canyon State Park, a protected six miles of cliffs overlooking the Grand Canyon of Texas. The bluff’s look the same way the first Texans saw it — unspoiled. The steep margins of the Fortress Cliffs consist of bright, banded layers of orange, red, brown, yellow, and white rocks that represent four geologic periods. Adding to the cliffs scenic grandeur are numerous pinnacles, buttes, and mesas. Doves Rest Fortress is a place of exceptional security, privacy and refuge.

Modern but rustic, this two-bedroom, two-bath cabin is immaculate and fully furnished. It features a wood burning fireplace, covered patio facing east with porch swings, fire pit and BBQ. The fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need to make you feel at home. Clean linens and towels are provided for your comfort along with extra blankets for cozy nights. A 70” T.V. in the living area makes the nights even more entertaining! Guests can unwind around the beautiful flagstone patio and enjoy the outdoor fire pit when the temperature dips.
