"This place was atrocious. Everything was dirty. The room smelt like dirty wet towels and something rotten. The toilet was clogged and so was the sink so we could not use it. There were stains and hair all over the towels and sheets. There was pubic hair all over the toilet seat. ABSOLUTELY REPULSED. This place is unsafe and unsanitary. Unsure how it is open. Pls only stay here if you absolutely had to like we did since no other hotel was available in the city. I will be reporting this place...

"My stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Lake Norman was extremely disappointing. The first issue was the cleanliness of our room. A boot was left under the bed from a previous guest, which immediately made me question how well the room had been cleaned. The biggest concern was the pool area. "Place is under a major renovation. Not sure they would still conduct business in such conditions. Construction crew onsite with heavy equipment beeping early morning. Please refund the money."

"The check-in staff was not pleasant at all. The hotel smelled like cigarettes and I am not a smoker. The suite looked like it had not been booked in a while. It had not been vacuumed or dusted in a while. It did not have a fresh smell to it at all. Aluminum foil was covering something in the ceiling and the television only had a sound (no picture). I informed the morning clerk an and his reaction was wow! Definitely OVERPRICED!!!! I will never stay there again and definitely will not recommend...

"Booked online with Expedia to get to hotel and ir was CLOSED. A note taped on front of door to call 800# for choice hotels. I called and was on phone for almost an Hour to find out no rooms available for the night. Tired to get a representative from EXPEDIA to help and was left on a hold for a CHAT. Spent the night in my truck with my daughter and an 8 week old."

We were traveling with a pet and there was a pet play area and toileting supplies in a shady area with a bench handy for outdoor needs! Breakfast was fresh and diverse in offerings. We enjoyed and appreciated our stay."
