Bienvenido a Casa La Mar, donde "Mi Casa es su Casa" se toma en serio. Esta encantadora casa de tres dormitorios, dos baños y medio, está situada en Marine Terrace, a una cuadra al este del agua, y a poca distancia del sendero hacia el Rancho. Puedes escuchar a las focas ladrar, las olas rompiendo y ver la puesta de sol en el horizonte, mientras tus preocupaciones se desvanecen. 60th wedding anniversary and an 85th birthday

My husband and I have been docents at the elephant seal colony at Piedras Blancas north of Hearst Castle on Highway 1. We live in Bakersfield so it is a habit to treat ourselves to a bit longer on the coast to celebrate special occasions. This was our 2nd weeks to visit this home. Probably one of our Grandchildren described it best. She was so happy to come back a dozen years later and find it just as wonderful as she had remembered it as as a 17 year old! Guests visiting, a few overnight, were also impressed with the location, the comfort and spaciousness of the home, and the general ambiance. The stairs might prevent us from returning for our 65th anniversary but I know we will wish that weren’t true if we are lucky enough to have that decision to make

Great coastal home

Great location, close to nice walking trails overlooking the ocean, which our dog loved. Nice quiet safe neighborhood. Close to town for groceries and dining. We enjoyed the hot tub. There were a few opportunities in kitchen, nothing major. Overall, we had a nice stay.

Great location

The house itself was in great shape, clean and what was described in the description. The check-in process was ok, but the lock to the box was extremely hard to open even after being told to pull hard on the lock. I do wish the back yard was fully enclosed so that the dogs could have been able to walk around the yard instead of being on a leash. The living room, kitchen and main bedroom is upstairs so be prepared to climb some stairs everyday. The rules for the house are very clear and the instructions for the appliances and hot tub are very easy to read and understand. My only real complaint is that I did try to call and even email the property manager and never received a response, but overall the house is in a great location and close to some beautiful beaches. I would rent this property again.

Great Location!

We have rented a few houses in Cambria and this is so far the only one we would rent again. The location was great, just a short walk to Fiscalini Ranch Preserve! Also being able to see & hear the ocean from the house was wonderful! Just a short walk down to a great place to watch the sunset & get your toes in the sand! The house could definitely use an update but that wasn’t a deal breaker. The hot tub had great pressure even with a few broken jets. Hot tub could use a little more privacy, but with all the lights off in the house & outside the stars at night are amazing! The sheets in the upstairs bedroom are very soft! I wish I knew where they got them. Bed was a little firm for us but not too bad. Nice to have a garage we could park in, pro-tip: park diagonally! Garage door might need a new battery soon, it was slow to respond ;-) My biggest complaint was some of the windows were in bad shape, one actually was coming apart & almost all of the windows we wanted to open had large holes in the screens. The blinds & the windows were very dusty & had a good amount of cobwebs, which is disappointing when staying in a house filled with windows by the ocean, but we managed. The house is pet friendly, which is great for us, but unfortunately the carpets reflect it. The carpets were so filled with stains that we didn’t even want to walk barefoot. They may not all be pet stains, but if the house is left closed up while the sun is out, there is a certain odor. Also, carpet in one of the bathrooms is just an odd choice, at least in my book. You are just asking for smells & stains! Yuck! I never understand why people who rent out their home to people, especially people with pets have carpets…just rip it out & go with laminate, wood or tile & call it a day! I hope they fix the screens & get rid of the carpet, but even if they don’t, we will probably stay here again. The neighborhood is quiet & friendly & the location for us is great. We love Cambria & until we can buy our own home there, we would happily stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality.

Great location quiet neighborhood

Location and chicken is excellent. You would need to drive to a store as there are no with in walking distance. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor which share a full bath on the top floor there is a master and a bath and a 1/2 with living Room and kitchen and dining. The home is stocked with very basic types of spices items that you don't normally take on a vacation. The home is a nice home however it's interior showing its age. The 3rd bedroom is more like an office/kids room with trundle. The downstairs was extremely cool. Portable heaters for ground floor would have been nice. They had done some exterior improvements and there are notes which indicate certain things will be fixed. The windows were very dirty and the windows are old. Need to be replaced. It was windy during my stay and you could feel the wind around windows. The space upstairs was roomy. TV system is different in each room. Some were more challenging then others to operate as there is multiple remotes 3-4. Nice newer induction stove, multiple none completely functioning toasters. With all the available renters in the area, I probably would not rebook this one...but haven't seen other rentals. I want to make a fair statement for the rental.

Short walk to the beautiful ocean setting. Very large house with plenty of space for social distancing. All the amenities one would need. Place has carpet throughout. Luckily my dog did not mistake it for grass during our stay. A much needed enjoyable stay. Would stay there again. Thank you.

Spacious, comfortable, a bit dated.

The house has a nice open layout upstairs. The deck off the kitchen with grill and hot tub is great! The décor is a bit dated, but everything seemed clean and well maintained. Master BR is upstairs, other two BRs are downstairs. I noticed the master has a huge closet that would definitely fit a pack n play for a baby/toddler if needed. The house is close to the water and hiking area which we enjoyed, but FYI no sandy beach in the immediate area.

Just what we needed

The house was in a great location and a good fit for our group of four adults and one dog. Overall it was comfortable, clean, with comfy beds and furniture. The kitchen was well equipped for all the cooking we did. We were a bit disappointed with the hot tub, as only one set of jets worked. Also, the windows in the house were very dirty and detracted from the views. Still we enjoyed our stay and if we stay again, will just bring Windex with us next time lol.
