Villa with private pool, large garden and stunning sea view

The villa and property has 180 degrees sea view. The 100 year old stone house was rebuilt and modernized in 2007, while retaining its simplicity and modesty. Upstairs the house has a joint living room/dining room/kitchen, a bathroom and a large bedroom, and downstairs two bedrooms. All rooms have sea view and lead out to terraces. There is a stereo, dvd player, several films and a monitor but there is no wifi. There are also many books, in many languages, also for children. Linen and towels provided. The pool is 3 by 6 meters, not heated. There are several terraces for dining and sunbathing: a roofed one outside the kitchen, one old and one new outside upper bedroom, one under grapevine outside lower bedrooms, and one around the pool. The surroundings consist of farming terraces and flower gardens. The road is reached by private stairs (60 steps). Parking on road about 100 metres away from top of stairs. The inside of the house is rustic and functional, while the outside is spacious and private with many semi-tropical plants.

Die Aussicht ist, wie in all den anderen Bewertungen beschrieben, der Hammer. Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse zog sich bei uns deswegen immer gerne in die Länge. Beim Haus handelt es sich um ein historisches Gebäude mit viel Charme und Blick aufs Meer, auch von innen. Es ist sauber und gemütlich, mit etwas wärmerem, etwas weniger hellem Licht aus den vorhandenen Glühbirnen könnten einige Ecken noch gemütlicher sein. Toilette und Dusche funktionieren super, das Bisschen Flugrost am Spiegel oder auch draußen am Geländer beeinflusst die Stabilität überhaupt nicht. Wer sich daran stört, sollte nicht ans Meer fahren. Natürlich ist auch der Terrassentisch nicht „kurz vorm Auseinanderfallen“… Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und im Bett habe ich jedenfalls wunderbar geschlafen. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, nochmal wieder zu kommen.

We had a great week here. The location is superb, with amazing views from a private terrace. The pool is clean and we used it every day. The house is well-equipped, and large, though could do with a refresh/refurbishment. Yes, the weather means some things are damp, particularly downstairs- I wouldn’t recommend 5-6 people staying here - and we had 2 heavy rainfalls which brought out cockroaches. But we loved the outside space, the quiet, the views, and visits from neighbourhood cats. If you like hiking all day and coming back to a view of a sunset over the ocean - and aren’t bothered by insects - this place is great.

Manches ist schön etwas in die Jahre gekommen (Liegestuhl, Fensterläden), aber alles sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sowohl draußen als auch drinnen standen Blumen bei unserer Ankunft.Ein fantastischer Ausblick und Ruhe.Zum Haus gehören wohl 2 Katzen, das hat unsere Tochter besonders gefreut.

Lage und Aussicht sind schön, aber das Objekt ist vom Vermieter stark vernachlässigt. Eklig: große Kakerlaken im ganzen Haus wir haben den Vermieter informiert, aber dann selbst Fallen aufgestellt, trotzdem waren sie die ganze Zeit über da, Für 6 Pers. prinzipiell ungeeignet, nur 3 Liegen davon eine defekt und nicht nutzbar, keine Auflagen f Liegen, Sitzkissen f Stühle verschmutzt, einziger vorhandener Sonnenschirm gebrochen und nicht nutzbar, wurde angeblich neu bestellt, aber wir warteten 2 Wochen vergeblich darauf, eigentlich wären 3 Stück erforderlich,Tisch auf der Terrasse angekokelt und kurz vorm Auseinanderfallen, Geländer an der Terrasse und am Pool verrostet und dadurch sehr gefährlich, Duschkopf am Pool verdreckt , ekelhafter Gestank am Abfluss an der Dusche am Pool,mehrere Fensterläden aussen defekt,Haus außen generell ungepflegt, renovierungsbedürftig, Matratzen extrem hart, Betten knarren bei jeder Bewegung, Schlafkomfort gleich Null, Kissen- , Sofa-und Sesselbezug verschmutzt, Schimmel im Bad, Waschbecken alt und mit vielen Rissen, Waschmaschine und Lampen im Bad verrostet, Toilettenspülung mehrfach defekt, sodass kein Wasser nachlief Geschirr fast alles angeschlagen,Gläser stark verkalkt,Töpfe sehr alt, Bettwäsche und Handtücher abgenutzt , kein WLan, kein Fernsehen Achtung Allergiker: viele Katzen, die auch ins Haus gehen!

Urlaub in Spitzenlage

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus schlicht aber funktional, die Außenanlagen (Terrassen, Garten, Pool) und der Blick einfach ein Traum! Wir fanden den Abstand zu Funchal eher einen Pluspunkt. Auch auf dieser Seite der Insel kann man genug unternehmen. Die Aktivitäten des hauseigenen Katzenclans waren für uns ebenfalls sehr unterhaltsam! Als einzigen Nachteil sahen wir das dritte, etwas ungemütliche Schlafzimmer im Untergeschoß, das zum Einen als ein Durchgangszimmer zum zweiten Schlafraum dient, zum Anderen durch die Treppe nach oben offen zum Wohnzimmer ist.Wir würden aber trotzdem jederzeit nochmal kommen.

Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt in dem Haus. Es ist toll ausgestattet, die Betten sind gemütlich und durch die Holzdielen ist es total wohnlich. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind der wahnsinn!!!

Lovely view, not so lovely insects

Plain and simple: the view is breathtaking.But you have to work for it. As has been said before, you park your car at the church, walk a few hundred meters down a small road and the take 61 steps to the entrance to the garden. I don't mind such a little workout. What I care more about is my food, and that needs to be protected from tiny ants. We first found them in a lovely Bouquet of flowers which greeted us in the kitchen upon arrival. Lovely idea, not so lovely insects included. In the following days we put all food, including bread, into the fridge. We did not expect the ants to get there as well. But they did, and even found a way into a closed plastic bag full of cookies we had bought at the farmers market in Prazeres. Tiny hungry beasts ;)Apart from that, I would agree with those who describe the house as a little worn out. After all the oven seems to be as brandnew as the stainless steel pan. Still: a view to die for.

10 Tage wandern mit 6 Leuten

War eine gute gemütliche Unterkunft in einem Provinzdorf. Absolute Ruhe und Stille. Man braucht schon ein Auto. Unterkunft leider schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Nicht zu empfehlen für 6 Erwachsene Menschen. Mitunter sind Matratzen komplett durchgelegen. Pool war schön und der Garten auch. Tolle Insel.

Séjour en famille de 12 jours dans un petit coin de paradis avec une vue incroyable sur l'océan et le spectacle quotidien du coucher de soleil depuis la terrasse.La maison traditionnelle est charmante. Nous avons adoré cet endroit.

Wir hatten 2 wunderschöne Wochen in dem sehr schön gelegenen Haus. Der Ausblick ist ein Traum. Ruhe pur. José hat uns empfangen und zum Haus gebracht. Wir waren rund um zufrieden 👍 Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit

Bel emplacement mais,...

José et Maria qui gardent le logement sont tops. Descente a pieds d'une pente bien pentue,( environ 100 metres) puis 70 marches, pour arriver a la maison. Sachant que l'on ne peux pas se garer tout prés. Maison très très vétuste, un manque total d'entretien du mobilier et des équipements. Photos a l'appuie. La vue est belle.

Couples getaway trip

We had a fantastic stay with Maria. The rustic property was in a cute, quiet, and private location with an amazing view of the ocean. Easy parking was available below the church, which was a 5-minute walk away from the property. The garden and view were highlights of the property that we will always remember. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to anyone wanting to visit Madeira.

Teleurstelling

Huis zeer vochtig en koud. Handdoeken en kleding bleven hele week vochtig. Schimmel in de keuken(kasten) en de badkamer. Lekkage boven het aanrecht/kookplaat. Waterkoker lekte zodat er water stond op de elektrische plaat. Muizen en mieren in de keuken. Meubels (bank en stoel) oud en vies. CD speler etc functioneerde niet. Slechte, oude matrassen in de bedden. Deur naar badkamer kon niet dicht, slot kapot. Huis niet geschikt voor 6 personen zoals in de advertentie stond; 4 krukken bij de ‘eettafel’ Al met al een grote teleurstelling
