Lovely house with beautiful views.

We had a perfect stay in Greenlea the views are incredible and stunning. We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes but Greenlea is at the top of the cleanest, it's immaculate and tastefully decorated with everything you need in the kitchen/ equipment. The garden is also well kept. There is nothing to say negative about Greenlea.

Great cottage in a good location

Very smart accommodation with an excellent view over Loch Fyne. Strachur is a good location to explore the Cowal Peninsula, and there are lots of places to visit in easy driving distance. We especially enjoyed Benmore Botanical Garden, Puck's Glen, Bute, and Crarea Garden.

October half term break

The property was fantastic. The decoration and furnishings were excellent, and despite a couple of wet and windy days the house was cosy and a great place to relax after long walks. The view across the Loch is spectacular and we were lucky enough to get some wonderful sunsets. I would highly recommend the property and we hope to be back to visit again.

A perfect retreat - Highly Recommended

We’ve just returned from a wonderful 10 night stay at this beautiful cottage in Strachur, Argyll & Bute. The property was immaculate and superbly maintained, with every possible comfort and convenience thoughtfully provided. The highlight for us was the upstairs living area, perfectly designed to make the most of the breathtaking views over Loch Fyne. Its location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, whether discovering the beauty of Argyll and Bute or venturing further afield. Peaceful, scenic, and welcoming, this cottage truly felt like a home away from home. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Magical Greenlea - Simply unwind & relax.

Beautiful & magical property. Stunning views of sweeping loch & mountains - even far prettier, in reality, than the photos do it justice. So relaxing just to sit and watch all the bird & animal life before you. Very modern, stylish, open plan living area , with a kitchen & utility room fully equipmed & short of nothing. Walking distance to the local post office / shop & to the Creggins Inn Pub & Hotel. In a prime area either just to sit & relax or to venture out on numerous day trips to Loch Lomond / Inverary & Castle / Majestic Glencoe Valley / Oban / Argyll Coast - we were there 10 days & could have stayed forever!! We booked via Argyll Self Catering Holidays & were very professional & prompt to deal with. Would not hesitate to reccommend this stunning property to any one & will definitely return.

What a house!

What an amazing house. We loved our stay at The Greenlea. We found plenty of things to do in the area - including a boat tour on the loch. The house has everything you could need for a weeks stay. It was beautifully decorated and furnished, thinking about everything you may need! A great pub within walking distance plus a little local tearoom and a shop! I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this house. That window seat and views would take some beating!

Excellent house & location

We would highly recommend this house for a family break, it is in pristine condition, very cosy, has comfortable beds and seating and high quality kitchen facilities. Great views, tranquil but with lots to do in and around Argyll. We went walking in Argyll Forest Park (Puck’s Glen in particular was lovely), went shopping in Inveraray and Dunoon, went kayaking at nearby Loch Goil, to Oban for a sea safari and also did the Loch Fyne boat tour. Ardkinglas woodland garden and Benmore botanic gardens are also very close by, both well worth a visit and were very quiet midweek in June. Could easily spend another week in the area, whatever the weather!

Another great stay

This was our 2nd visit to Greenlea this year and it it was as enjoyable as the first one in March. We spent Christmas at Greenlea and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. No chasing the last sprout. This was the first time we had ever gone back to the same holiday let twice in the same year. The place was immaculately clean and presented at the highest standard. We wanted for nothing except an extra week! Dave and Gill

A perfect winter retreat

We needed some time together as a family to detox from Christmas travel and Greenlea was perfect, a beautiful, tranquil house (I always like to stay somewhere that is just a bit more stylish than my own home so i feel inspired- and this fit the bill!) , everything that we needed, including the little downstairs sitting area, and the huge window sills for those who needed quiet time with a book, and that view!!! Amazing! A real highlight was being able to watch my son paddleboard on the Loch whilst inside with a cup of tea! Lynda’s communication was clear and timely, and we really appreciated the message saying we didn’t need to check out at 9am as there were no guests expected that day. Thank you!

Last minute break.

The cottage was lovely with amazing views over the loch. I don’t actually cook when on holiday but there seemed to be most of what you would need if you wanted to. We didn’t find the sofas particularly comfortable the cushions slide off and the backs fall down the gap.. The upstairs being in the eaves gets extremely hot. The second bedroom had not been made up I think it’s nicer when people are paying for the whole house to make up the whole house. No starter pack supplied so remember to take milk in with you as the garage shuts at 6 and you can’t get in the house until after 5 . Having said all this we love the area and would stay again.

Wonderful stay

The location is fabulous. Approx 30 mins from lots of different activities. (We hired a boat on Loch Goil, hill walking, gorge walk, castle, local towns.) The village is lovely with a well stocked post office, (who cooked us fish & chips) local pub and garage. The property is very clean, beautifully designed, immaculately maintained, extremely comfortable, beautiful views (over the loch with daily changing vistas, birds, boats, seals), has the little extra amenities that make it special: tea towels, dishwasher tablets, washing pegs, soap bars, soft bed linen, fluffy towels. Check-in was great and our host very helpful as our flight was delayed. Internet food shopping arrived on time and was very convenient. We enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to visit again. We all fell in love with Scotland. Thank you for being such super hosts!

Lovely house in a beautiful location.

Greenlea is a lovely holiday cottage with spectacular views which you never tire of, whatever the weather. It's cosy and warm, very clean and has all you need. The garden is very pretty and it's great to have off road secure parking. The owner is very kind and helpful and said if we needed anything or advise, just to give her a shout. We visited some wonderful locations which weren't too far away but a must, is to visit Southend and Mull of Kintyre. The views are specular and the beach you'll have to yourselves. Enjoyed some eats at the Teashop and a meal at Creggans Inn, both very good, well worth a visit. Got shopping delivered via Morrison's. The only thing that we didn't realise was how busy the road can be at all hours. And just a couple of things I missed, a towel in the kitchen, even though there were plenty of tea towels, some extra tall glasses and a hook in the bathroom to hang your dressing gown on. Other than that, Greenlea is a great holiday home which you will certainly enjoy. My husband and I did.

Nice but ...

Lovely property but would say that it needs more crockery/glasses, cutlery. Don't expect to have to wash up mugs by hand (there were only 3 for 4 people) for example, when there is a dishwasher. It means you end up putting the dishwasher on when not full which is false economy for the owner and not environmentally friendly. Also felt the description of the property was slightly misleading in mentioning the "abundance of local produce on the doorstep for keen chefs". We fall into that category but actually found local produce very difficult to source and not on the doorstep (unless it means the overpriced Loch Fyne deli). We eventually found a fish delivery man, but you had to order by a certain day (which we missed) and a local veg producer which was only open on certain days and not easy to find. Some information on sourcing local produce at the house would have been helpful.

Absolutely stunning!

Just returned from a wonderful week at Greenlea and it is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. The design, decoration, layout, furnishings and appliances are all absolutely fantastic, it's spotlessly clean and welcoming, and the views from the main bedroom and upstairs living area out across Loch Fyne are absolutely stunning! Thank you for a fantastic holiday, I can't wait to come back! :)

Wonderful Scottish Holiday at Greenlea x

We had a fabulous stay at this house, the photos are great but the real thing is even better. We were blessed with sunshine in mid September but the amazing views would be great whatever the weather. The house is pristine with lovely interior design, really comfy beds, really good shower, really good wifi, really nice cookware and crockery. There is a little local shop just down the road but I would advise as we did bring some essentials with you so you don’t waste your holiday shopping for supplies. There are loads of lovely restaurants, fantastic walks and towns to visit we could have easily stayed another week there is so much to do. Thank you Lynda and Stewart

Fabulous cottage on Loch Fyne

Greenlea is a fabulously clean, comfortable, warm, well appointed modern cottage with superb views from practically every window across Loch Fyne.
