We stayed in the Mercury room. The room was fine. The windows are coloured glass with no window coverings so it gets bright when the sun comes up. The walls are thin so you can hear outside noise but it’s not loud. Good air conditioning, fan and there was a mosquito net. There is a sort of mothball smell but that’s likely from bug spray. Staff were nice and courteous. The breakfast was decent and there was a nice view of the Old Fort. The hotel is located in a main tourist shopping area.

Der Aufenthalt im Ycona war einfach unvergesslich. Schon beim Betreten der Anlage taucht man in eine ganz besondere Welt ein – üppiges Grün, tropisches Flair, Affen, die von Baum zu Baum schwingen und eine Atmosphäre, die sofort Urlaubsgefühle aufkommen lässt. Unsere Villa war traumhaft schön und der großzügige Pool ein absolutes Highlight – perfekt zum Entspannen und Genießen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der außergewöhnliche Service: Das gesamte Team ist unglaublich aufmerksam und herzlich, man fühlt sich rundum umsorgt und jeder Wunsch wird mit größter Sorgfalt erfüllt. Ein Ort, der für puren Luxus und absolute Erholung steht. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

I am disappointed with my recent Expedia booking experience and the way this situation was handled. Prior to my arrival, I was notified that my reservation would be moved to accommodate my delayed baggage. I was specifically assured by an Expedia customer service representative that the necessary arrangements had been made and that the issue would be resolved when I arrived at Hotel Riu Palace Swahili. However, upon arrival, I was informed by the hotel that no such accommodation had been arranged. As a result, I paid an additional $595 out of pocket. What made this experience even more frustrating was the constant back-and-forth between Expedia and the hotel throughout the entire day. Despite numerous conversations, no one took ownership of the situation, and there was no meaningful resolution. Instead of enjoying my vacation, I spent valuable time dealing with stress, uncertainty, and unnecessary complications which impacted the trip negatively. As an Expedia Platinum member, I expected a much higher standard of service, communication, and support. I trusted the assurances provided by Expedia’s customer service team, but the outcome was completely different from what I was promised. I am requesting a thorough investigation into this matter and a review of the handling of my case. Given my Platinum membership, the additional financial burden, and the significant inconvenience caused, I would appreciate direct follow-up from management and an appropriate resolution. Thanks

Staff was wonderful, breakfast was amazing, comfy bed and room, great time

un grand merci pour l'accueil chaleureux du personnel : Johnstone, Iren, Johan, Elisabeth, Ruth, Amos et tous ceux que je n'ai pas cités sont aux petits soins pour nous faire passer un excellent séjour. Les chambres sont fantastiques, avec une piscine privée ou un jacuzzi, avec une petite attention dans les chambres toujours remarquables. Tout est excellent : la qualité des repas, la qualité des spectacles (bravo aux équilibristes notamment, nous avons été époustouflés de leur souplesse).
