"Excellent hotel and highly recommend to all. Location is perfect. Right in the centre of Buxton. Very beautiful and surrounded by lovely cafes, bars, restaurants. There isn’t a car park on site so I parked in the train station which cost about £5 for 24 hours and was 2 mins walk away. Room was very nicely appointed. Lovely and quiet. Felt private. Bathroom luxurious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff all very friendly and polite. Local and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served...

"Let's start with the positive. Fantastic location close to pubs & restaurants Bed comfortable. Very disappointed, the hotel was very run down & tired. Staff were not welcoming and lacked enthusiasm. Buffet breakfast very average. Parking was difficult, You can purchase a 24 hr parking pass. But a parking space is not guaranteed if you decide to go visit the surrounding areas. Dog friendly at a cost of £20 a night, front door locked at 11pm. Sadly, we checked out early. Not recommended."

"Our stay was very average for such a grand hotel. The room felt like we were stopping in the servants quarters rather than a nice hotel. It was small and basic but clean and we got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good. Parking here can be difficult if you turn up in the evening and there is a charge. Great location for all that Buxton has to offer and very convenient for the many restaurants and bars."

"Good location and clean, attractive property with plenty of space - ideal for a family. It was a last minute booking so we were grateful to find it. We were absolutely warned about possible noise from the bar below and that it would go on late (and earplugs were provided) so we can't complain about this because it wasn't a surprise, but I don't think I could stay there again at a weekend."

"Nice clean room. Large, had 2 single and double beds. Room was off the courtyard, so easy to access and minimal noise carried over from the pub. Pleasant service. Note that need to use key card to turn on power in the room. Would stay again."

"This place was spectacular!! We wish would could have stayed longer!! The cottage was beautifully done, the staff was so kind, and how cool to have sheep and cows right out our front door!! We highly recommend staying here and we will be back!!!"
