There’s a wealth of scenic country and seaside walks to explore, and you can join the glorious South West Coast Path at dog-friendly Duckpool Beach, 3 miles away. Lively Bude (5 miles) is renowned for its magnificent beaches and has an excellent heritage centre, with exhibitions and galleries.

Your welcoming holiday hideaway, once a piggery, is one of four converted farm barns in this tranquil rural location. A stable door opens onto the charmingly furnished open-plan living space with a comfortable sofa, where you can relax and watch the TV. There’s a cosy dining area and the well-planned kitchen has a handy breakfast bar. Sleep well in the inviting king-size bedroom, with a splendid sleigh bed, an en-suite bathroom, and lovely countryside views. You’ll find surf and other watersports schools on Bude’s splendid sands, while the sheltered sea pool on Summerleaze Beach offers quieter waters for a refreshing swim. Take your pet for a peaceful stroll along the towpath of Bude Canal or hire a canoe or kayak to explore this historic waterway. Tamar Lakes (4 miles) is rich in wildlife and offers miles of scenic walks and cycle trails, along with watersports. Picturesque Clovelly (11.5 miles) is home to the village’s famous donkeys.
