Our Home in Bucerías – A Relaxed Mexican Beach Town

Welcome to our home in Bucerías, Nayarit, a charming Mexican beach town on the beautiful Bay of Banderas.

We love Bucerías because it offers something that is becoming harder to find in Mexico: the feeling of a real Mexican coastal town, while still being close to everything.

Our fully furnished condo is located in a quiet and beautiful area, just two blocks from the beach. The building has only six private condos, so it has a peaceful, residential atmosphere rather than feeling like a large resort.

The condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, making it comfortable for families, couples traveling together, or friends. There is a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a private balcony, and everything you need to feel at home during your stay.

You will also have access to the building's swimming pool, terrace and private parking space.

Why we love Bucerías

Bucerías is a place where you can slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of coastal Mexico.

In the morning, walk to the beach with a coffee and watch the town come to life. Spend the afternoon swimming in the calm waters, exploring the small streets, visiting local shops and galleries, or having lunch at one of the many restaurants.

In the evening, walk along the beach and enjoy one of Bucerías' beautiful sunsets before having dinner by the ocean.

The beach is long, wide and generally calm, making it wonderful for swimming, walking, paddleboarding or simply finding a quiet spot to relax.

The town itself still retains much of its traditional Mexican character, with cobblestone streets, local artisans, galleries, markets and a lively central plaza. Seafood is a big part of the local cuisine, and you will find everything from casual taco and ceviche spots to excellent restaurants.

A great base for exploring Riviera Nayarit

Although Bucerías feels relaxed and local, it is also an excellent base for exploring the region.

Puerto Vallarta is only about 30 minutes away, while Sayulita, Punta de Mita, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and San Pancho are all easy trips from Bucerías.

You can spend one day exploring the Riviera Nayarit and the next simply walking to the beach from our home.

That combination is what makes Bucerías special: you can have a real Mexican village experience without giving up the convenience of being close to major attractions.

The Neighborhood & Surroundings

Our home is located in Bucerías, on the Riviera Nayarit, just a couple of blocks from the beach.

What we love most about this location is that you can experience Bucerías on foot. You don't need to get in your car every time you want to go to the beach, have breakfast, enjoy a great dinner, buy groceries or simply go for a walk.

The neighborhood is peaceful and residential, but you are very close to the heart of Bucerías and its Zona Dorada, an area known for its charming streets, small restaurants, cafés, boutiques and art galleries.

Life by the beach

The beach is just a short walk from the house. Bucerías has a long stretch of golden sand and relatively calm, warm waters, making it wonderful for swimming, walking, paddleboarding or simply relaxing under a palapa with a cold drink.

One of our favorite things to do is simply walk along the beach in the morning or in the late afternoon. The sunsets over the Bay of Banderas are beautiful, and the beach becomes a wonderful place for an evening stroll.

Restaurants, cafés & local life

You will find plenty of restaurants and cafés within walking distance, from casual Mexican food and fresh seafood to international cuisine.

Bucerías is especially known for its seafood and relaxed beachfront dining. The town's food scene ranges from local taco and ceviche spots to more sophisticated restaurants.

There are also several excellent cafés nearby, perfect for starting the morning with a good coffee before heading to the beach.

Art, markets & the village atmosphere

Bucerías still feels like a Mexican beach town rather than a large resort.

Take a walk through the streets around the main plaza and you'll find local crafts, colorful shops, galleries and small markets. The town regularly hosts cultural and artistic events, adding to its lively but relaxed atmosphere.

The local markets are also fun to explore if you enjoy looking for Mexican handicrafts, artwork, souvenirs or simply want to experience everyday life in the community.

Everything is close

One of the best things about staying here is the combination of convenience and authenticity.

You can walk to the beach, restaurants, cafés, shops and many of Bucerías' attractions. At the same time, if you want to explore farther, the location is an excellent base for discovering the Riviera Nayarit.

Puerto Vallarta is approximately 30 minutes away, while destinations such as La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta de Mita, Sayulita and San Pancho make great day trips.

But honestly, you may find that some of your best days are the ones when you don't go anywhere at all:

A slow breakfast, a walk to the beach, lunch at a local restaurant, an afternoon by the pool, and a sunset walk through Bucerías.
