  • Situated on 5 acres, "The Art House" is the perfect place for those looking to relax and unwind, as well as to explore and enjoy all that the area has to offer. This contemporary farmhouse, tucked away on a private hilltop in the beautiful New England countryside, offers breathtaking sunset views, as well as a spacious interior that has been thoughtfully decorated, and desirable amenities that allow guests to feel right at home.

    The Space: The Art House, named for its one-of-a-kind art pieces, offers ample space for relaxing, both inside and out. Inside the home, guests will find three bedrooms: one king (second level), and two queens (on on the main level, and one on the second level). The dedicated workspace, also located on the second level, is the perfect place to catch up on work or a good book. Outside, guests are invited to relax on the fully furnished front porch, or on the back patio, where they will be greeted by a firepit, an outdoor dining table, and grill. Both areas provide a spectacular view of the area's beautiful sunsets, and serve as the perfect place to gather after returning from the day's adventures.

    * Please note: 4WD/ AWD vehicles are highly recommended for those visiting during the winter months, as the property is located at the top of a long, steep driveway.
    *Window AC units are placed in each of the three bedrooms, as well as the workspace, living room, and dining room during warmer months.
    *Guests who wish to stay longer than 14 days must sign a separate lease agreement.

I cannot express how wonderful the home was. The spacious, well-stocked kitchen was exactly what we needed for our wedding prep week. Everything was immaculate; should we return to the area in the future, I'd gladly book this place again.

This was a great place and the layout was very open and inviting. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The outdoor patio and fireplace were our favorite! It was also conveniently located for our plans. Would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was absolutely perfect. The property was impeccable—every detail was thoughtfully curated, and the artwork was simply stunning. The location couldn’t have been better—it was serene and ideal for rest and relaxation, especially for a girls’ trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway—highly recommend!

A great farm style house on a beautiful lot. The kitchens was stocked with all essentials and the property was relaxing and enjoyable. It appeared the sheets could be replaced. Some had some older stains on them but were still clean and the Rest of the house was very clean.

Thank you so much for opening your incredible home for our weekend getaway! The house was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed for 4 adults & 2 (almost 2 yo) toddlers.Highlights included a trip to the Everwonder kids museum and Nordica toys. The living room was perfect for an early 2000s dance party. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we might have needed and everything was clean, and beautiful!

We loved everything about our stay! It’s a beautiful home and we enjoyed holiday dinners around the dining table and gathering around the fireplace. The beds and pillows were comfy too!

We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years. This is easily in my top 2 of all time. There is not one thing I could criticize. Comfy beds, private/secluded location, great kitchen, plenty of room/seating, and very clean and well maintained with awesome wood floors and well done exposed beams. The location was perfect and close to good dining and New Milford. If we are ever up this way again, we will definitely stay here. Book it...you won't regret it!

Wonderful property

Our family of four (and 2 dogs) enjoyed our stay at the Art House. The home blends modern amenities with a rustic feel; beautifully decorated and cozy. Location was great...close to hiking, restaurants, and cute town of New Milford. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio with the firepit. Large yard was nice for walking our dogs. Communication with host was great; quick and easy check-in/out. The driveway was a little tricky finding the first time at night, but no problem after that. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would recommend.

One of our best VRBO Experiences!

Jon and Jessica, thank you so much for an incredible experience. You thought of everything for your guests. Every bed is so comfortable, we loved the artwork, and the home exudes relaxation and warmth. It was immaculate and extremely clean. We enjoyed spending the afternoons on the patio and covered porch watching the numerous birds, the sunset, and stargazing. Thank you.

Beautiful house with gorgeous views

The house and property were exactly as advertised. It's a rather secluded house that's a stone throw (driving) from a bunch of nearby amenities. The house itself has a great front porch and back patio. Its mostly open concept entry, living room, dining room, and kitchen flows well. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The coffee and snacks were a nice bonus. There's also a bedroom and full bathroom downstairs which was great for my older mother. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and an office. We only used one of the bedrooms where there was plenty of space and a comfy bed. The upstairs bathroom has only a shower, which worked perfectly for me and my partner. Window air conditioning units were helpful on the warmer days. And, of course, there was beautiful art throughout the house. Finally, our host was communicative throughout. We highly recommend this property.
