Charming Boutique Cabin in Private Setting with Hot Tub

The Powder Pad is a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin nestled against the wetlands of the Goose Pasture Tarn, 3 miles south of Breckenridge. This one of a kind cabin is extremely secluded and backs to hundreds of acres of wetlands and national forest. What makes this cabin so special is the ponds and streams right out of the back door. You will experience the benefits of being in an extremely private setting - yet still being in such close proximity to Breckenridge.

In addition to the 2 bedrooms, the cabin has a loft with a Queen size murphy bed. The cabin sleeps up to 6 people - via 3 Queen size beds.

After a fun day of skiing, the hot tub will be just the ticket to warm you up. You will find this to be an ultra private hot tub experience in the most serene and private setting underneath the stars.

The Powder Pad's kitchen is stocked with all of the amenities you may need: crockpot, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, etc.

The living room features a flatscreen Samsung smart TV and a wood burning stove. We stock the cabin with firewood for our guests. There is nothing better than curling up in front of the fire after a day of mountain fun.

There is so much to do in all of the seasons:

In the winter months, in addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can cross country ski or snow shoe right out the back door. There are many hiking trails near the Powder Pad.

In the summer months, you and your guests will enjoy 3 decks off of the cabin that add to the living space. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the upper back deck, listening to Spruce Creek that runs right through the back yard. The beautiful ponds off of the back of the cabin boast beavers and fish. Grab a fishing pole and take a walk through 'Moose on the Loose' trail right out of the back of the cabin.

In the Fall, the whole scene around the cabin explodes with shades of gold. The intimate view of the famous Boreas Pass is yours to take in from either of the back decks.

There has been many wildlife spotted from the Powder Pad including our local Moose, Beaver, Deer, Great Blue Heron, Hummingbirds, Osprey, and Geese. All observed from the back deck of the Powder Pad. What will you see when you stay???

I would give the Powder Pad 10 stars! It was amazing, perfect and spectacular! Well stocked! Perfect location! Hot tub, view, heated bathroom view, garage with opener and so many more amenities to add made our stay amazing! To top it off we saw a moose!

Really nice location convenient to town and some great local hiking. We had quite the mix of weather on our trip and got to experience fall colors AND some snow! Great trip for the family. Beds and rooms were so comfortable and the views were so nice it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. Thanks for sharing your property.

From the moment we arrived, this property exceeded every expectation. The home itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Every detail inside—from the cozy furniture to the well-stocked kitchen—showed true thoughtfulness and care.Outside, the property was just as impressive. The setting was peaceful and inviting, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the scenery. During our stay we were lucky enough to see a mama moose and her baby several times, hummingbirds buzzing around the porch, and even a bear that wandered through and made off with the trash can! It truly felt like being right in the middle of nature without sacrificing any comfort.The location was convenient yet still felt tucked away, giving us the best of both worlds. The hosts were outstanding—responsive, welcoming, and clearly invested in making sure guests feel right at home.This was hands down one of the best Vrbo experiences we’ve ever had. We left refreshed, grateful, and already planning when we can return. If you’re looking for a place that’s truly outstanding both inside and out, look no further!

Amazing Cabin and Hosts

The cabin was perfect for a family vacation with our 2 adult sons (18 and 21). Everything went so smoothly. It really was the best experience we have had with VRBO. This is the kind of property that you want to return to again and again.

Iconic Colorado Cabin

This little slice of paradise outside of Breckenridge was all that we had hoped for and more. Our hosts thought of everything including a welcome basket with beverages and snacks (really appreciated after our drive), very comfortable beds, lovely throws, linens and blankets. As a cook, I was impressed and appreciative of the quality of cookware (especially knives). We were also pleased to find a large screen tv and high speed internet; however, the real show was right outside our back door. We were greeted within the hour by a mamma and her baby moose. We were knowledgeable enough to stay inside but got some great photos. We had the pleasure of having the moose back a second night, along with hawks, heron and hummingbirds. The sound of the creek and the pond with the majestic mountains in the background allowed for maximum retreat and relaxation. Beautifully appointed, charming, and comfortable in every way. We hope to be back soon and often.

Our winter getaway

My husband and I had the most amazing time at this cabin. It was just what we needed. We were unable to ski as planned so we really enjoyed the comforts of the cabin. We arrived in a snow storm and were so happy the hot tub was ready to go as there is nothing like a hot tub in the middle of a snow storm. The fireplace was wonderful and a fully stocked woodpile that we took full advantage of and really appreciated. We took wonderful walks and met the neighborhood dog "Woof" who kept watch outside the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed and we ended up staying in for every meal. Shawn was super easy to communicate with and helped out tremendously with some special requests. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone!!

Perfect for small family

Enjoyed the cabin, very clean and just as described. Checkin and out couldn’t be any easier, and the view was fantastic! Neighborhood was quiet and location is minutes from Breck resort. Hot tub is a wonderful way to end the day after skiing. Serene location but with modern conveniences. My family leaves with wonderful memories and would not hesitate to return if the opportunity presents itself!

Charming Winter Getaway

Clean cozy little cabin. Perfect for 4-6 guests. Great views. Outdoor hot tub that was great after snowboarding. Relaxing getaway between the holidays. Whole family had a great time.

Blue River CO Cabin Fall Getaway

This cabin was just perfect! Clean, amazing back porch views and EXTREMELY kind neighbors. We had a moose welcome us on our arrival-chillin near the river for the afternoon. Shawn was very responsive and made things super easy. Def recommend!!!

Great property

We had a great time at the cabin. Beautiful views from the back yard. It’s tucked away off the main road so there’s no road noise but extremely convenient to downtown Breckenridge. It’s well stocked with everything we needed. We’d definitely stay again if we’re in the area.

Early October family stay

This property was amazing! I stayed with my in laws and 3 kids, one of them a 2 month old. The views on the back yard are amazing, while relaxing in the hot tub. I was able to take the girls out on a morning hike every morning just out back! It’s literally a 6min drive to downtown Breck! Hosts respond quickly and efficiently! It is an older cabin, so the stairs and upstairs do make noise. They have a box fan to drown out the noise at night, but would recommend a second one for the other room. We will definitely be staying here again!

Rest and Relaxation

What a wonderful cabin! The owners have everything you could possibly need for your stay. The place was clean, quiet and welcoming. The pond and stream in the backyard was our favorite. Morning coffee in the cool mountain air watching the sun peek over the mountain. We didn’t see moose like we hoped for but were surprised to see a deer making his way by. Breckenridge was just a very short drive. Hands down will be back if we are lucky enough to make it back to Breckenridge.

Serenity Now!

We had a fabulous week in this charming cabin. Mornings on the upper balcony watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee to the back deck and hot tub after a long day of hiking. A hidden gem with privacy that puts you in the midst of nature away the hustle of Breck but a short 3 mile drive to enjoy the restaurants and shops when wanted. Shawn and Kate were great to communicate with. We will be back! Scott and Leslie
