The Refuge~~ This Engelmann Spruce Log Cabin is the epitome of spacious seclusion. This is located in secluded Tall Pines 40 acres estate off of UU only 20 minutes to Branson. The Refuge is located in a 40 acres country estate in the heart of the Ozarks offering 7 unique homes to enjoy while n vacation in the Branson Missouri area. New to Tall Pines is a salt water community swimming pool shared by only these 7 homes.

The Refuge at Tall Pines is a full-featured house with the warm cozy feel of a log cabin. It has 2,000 square feet of indoor living space. There are several separate outdoor living areas including a screened-in sleeping porch, a covered porch, an open deck, and a hot-tub deck. The main level features a large stone fireplace (gas log), large custom windows, 2 queen bedrooms, a bath, and a large country kitchen/living room. Upstairs is a spacious loft with great views of the surrounding forest, and a large private master bedroom suite with a separate shower and extra-large tub. The lowest level is a comfortable family room area. Our guests enjoy the main floor kitchen/living room for conversation and the family room for fun. Full laundry facilities are tucked away in the corner of the lowest level. Enjoy the pool table and large screen tv downstairs and the patio that features a pool table. Upstairs is another game for your to enjoy - a foosball table. You can enjoy fast wifi speeds throughout this beautiful home!

The outside is just as glorious as the inside! The yard is spacious enough for children to play with, and there is a swing set within walking distance of the cabins. The wrap-around deck has patio furniture, a hot tub, a gas grill, and incredible views. Less than 1/2 mile to lake swimming and boating access, less than 20 minutes to Dogwood Canyon, Big Cedar, Award-Winning Golf Courses, and Branson!!

Tall Pines is secluded and surrounded by nature with outdoor hot tubs at each house for ultimate relaxation and tranquility. We enjoy the peaceful countryside away from the bustle of Branson. A large cattle ranch surrounds our property. Another one is just across the road. We love the cows! Almost every other Branson rental is tight up against a lot of other ones, cabins upon cabins and condos upon condos. Ours is not anything like that and we have kept the number of homes to a minimum on this beautiful tranquil country estate! Tall Pines is one of the best places we know for enjoying nature. Tall Pines has walking trails, a small playground, and a Treasure Hunt that kids of all ages will love!! This home also offers free internet but speeds may not support streaming services. We also have Tesla and universal car charger available for your use.

Awesome place

We very much enjoyed our family stay at the Refuge. The property was clean and as described. We loved the pool table, ping pong table and foosball. The layout worked perfect for our family. The cabin is definitely a bit of a drive from town. I would suggest taking snacks or meals unless you don’t mind a drive into town. We loved the privacy and seclusion of the cabin vs. all the cabins on tops of each other in town. We would absolutely return.

Secluded location

Great place! Between top of the rock/big cedar and dogwood canyon, so easy access to those places. And about 30 mins from any attraction in Branson. Would def stay here again. Serviced by rent Branson properties, so check in/out, communication is super easy

Cute cabin

The Refuge was a nice place for our family of 6. We enjoyed the quiet, convenient location (generally within 20-30 minutes of our day trips) as well as having access to a pool in the July heat.The cabins 3 bedrooms (master's mattress and pillows could use updating) were good for us as was the big gathering table with benches. The seating area did not provide ideal seating for us to comfortably gather as there was just a couch and a rocking chair. Check-in and out was simple and communication was warm and efficient.

Beautiful stay at The Refuge

The cabin was awesome. Lots of space and entertainment for everyone! Beautiful area. Close to the pool and lake! The jacuzzi/hot tub were relaxing after our daily activities! Would highly recommend this cabin for anyone wanting to stay near Branson.

Needs repairs

Unfortunately our Christmas celebration at this location was NOT what we hoped for. This property is in desperate need of repairs and maintenance had to come out just so we would not have additional safety issues. The listing picturea were not reflective of the property and when we contacted supported they initally wanted to send out housekeeping. An email from support later said they were aware repairs needed to be done but weather had delayed them. They should have removed listing or deeply discounted to reflect need for repairs. We would not have stayed there. We have tried to resolve this fairly and support has only offered a token amount. Its very unfortunate that our Christmas gift to each other was marred with so many issues including customer service.

Property a little dated! Hostess was super nice. The rental company not so much… we arrived one hour early and would have liked to have checked in. They said call back later to see if was ready! Location was great!

Absolutely beautiful place. We had reserved the property up the road. Someone contacted me a couple hours before our arrival to tell us the ac was broke. She automatically upgraded us to the big house down the street with no extra charge. We will definitely be staying here many times to come. Thank you.

First Spring Break in Missouri

Do not focus on the negative reviews! The cabin was super clean and a bit bigger than it looked in the photographs. Hot tub was very clean! The host was proactive in texting and reaching out to me prior to, during, and upon departure just as a friendly reminder if we needed anything. Location was great! Has a little bit of room to walk around the properties as well as a small playground and firepit. Conveniently located to the lake and a short drive to several attractions such as branson, caves, and hiking. The fireplaces were great. The downstairs was a perfect play/hangout area as well as the best place to watch TV (if you find yourself doing that at all on your trip). Will highly recommend to friends and family

This is an amazing cabin!

The Refuge is just an awesome cabin and a great place for a getaway. It was only my husband and I staying there, but it could accommodate a whole family. And they would not have to leave to have a good time—pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, multiple TVs, and the hot tub! The cabin was immaculate and had plenty of towels. Loved it and would definitely stay there again!

Family getaway

The cabin was very nice, there were 6 of us total - 4 adults and 2 children, plenty to do for everyone! The kids loved the games, adults loved the pool table and hot tub. The photos do make the cabin look larger than it is so keep in mind for groups over 6. Floors are incredibly squeaky, I might not have noticed as much had we not been traveling with 2 small children, harder to move around after they were in bed. The beds were comfortable, no soaps of any kind in shower so bring your own. Lighting in house was difficult to find switches for and our bedroom light flashed off and on several times in the middle of the night. Kitchen had everything we needed and fireplaces both worked. All in all it was a nice getaway, 30 minutes or less to most of the main attractions.

Nice location, but the house was not as we expected it would be

Beautiful secluded location! But the house was dirty with cobwebs in corners, the screened porch full of bugs and dirt. The fridge’s water was broken so we had to use unfiltered water to cook, the smoke detector above the fridge was halfway unhooked and obviously not hooked up and working, and the hot tub wasn’t entirely clean. There were commercial style dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, soap in the shower but completely empty which is odd (they do mention in their handbook that they don’t provide soap or shampoo starter bottles). The property is listed as 6-8 people, so when we booked for 7 people, we saw we are being charged for an extra person. When I talked with staff about it, they said their fine print disclaimers state that any more than 6 guests and you’ll be paying extra which is shady, so just keep that in mind. Their rules are riddled with threats of charging you if things aren’t done a certain way which isn’t the best customer experience – we weren’t constantly on edge about whether we cleaned correctly, if we’re allowed to use this without charge, etc. I.e. we paid a $xxx cleaning fee but were told that if we don’t wipe down the kitchen until there’s no grease or food stains on any appliances, there would be a cleaning fee of $xx/hour above the $xxx we already paid with the booking. $xxx fee if you move the grill. Fee could be accrued if you change the temp on the hot tub, etc. Obviously it’s their property and they can charge what they decide, but I would have liked for someone to make me aware of this before we stayed. By the way, I’m x’ing out fee amounts since VRBO doesn’t allow this. The one encounter I had with staff about the extra person charge I mentioned above, was cold and dismissive. A “Call us because we’re done with this conversation and inquiry on email” sort of tone. For what we paid to stay, we probably wouldn’t choose to stay at The Refuge again.

Terrific time!

Enjoyed playing indoor games, functi9nal gas fireplaces and hot tub immediately after a mid-west snow storm. Close enough to Branson activities while maintaining remote solitude. Will consider for future events.
