Beautiful , private Bon Secour riverfront home with spacious screened porch

There is is a completely updated interior and exterior for your comfort, safety and enjoyment of a unique coastal lowland estuary. Enjoy the feel of pine plank flooring, new appliances, gas and electric ovens, granite countertops and large central granite island. The large kitchen-family room is serene, capable and comfortable for those who want to just relax or those that want to cook, eat and then relax and even those who insist on bringing their laptop. It has oversized glass doors from the central common area leading to a 40 X 12 ft screen porch overlooking moss draped oaks at rivers edge where herons and ospreys feed and dolphins parade. The house is directly across the Bon Secour River from the county road 6 boat launch and park. This part of Bon Secour River is wide and runs North and South. The house faces east with a commanding view of this part of the River on 300 ft of private riverside in front and gravel path to secure deep water dockage on canal in rear. Cook a gourmet meal in the new kitchen, dine on the porch, fish, boat, jet ski or kayak the Bon Secour river. You are minutes from the mouth of the river, intracoastal canal, Bon Secour and Mobile bays. The Tin Top restaurant and three local seafood retailers are also moments away. If you need the sand, bustle, restaurants, nightlife and retailers at the beach , Gulf Shores is 12 miles away. The master bedroom is an exquisite sanctuary with its own sitting/reading area.The second bedroom sleeps four in two full beds. There are two bathrooms; one associated with master suite and has a dressing area. The master suite and second bedroom have private sliding glass doors with excellent views of the river and access directly to the screen porch as well . The third bedroom has stacked bunk beds best suited for children and contains a stacked w/d. Book a week and the rate drops to six days. Monthly rates are available in the winter. Kayaks are available onsite for the experienced kayakers.

Perfect Bay House

We enjoyed all aspects of the property, from the kitchen to the screened porch and the boat dock! Beds were comfortable and furnishings comfortable. Seafood is king there and we took advantage of the fresh fish etc at the local market Aquila. My family was down from NYC and they loved the coastal flair and local color! Thanks!

Great location away from all of the hustle and bustle - enjoyed watching the dolphins from the screened in porch. Excellent communication with owner - helped out when we were in a bind! Very thankful you were so easy to work with! Our vacation was saved by you! Thank you!

River house

We greatly enjoyed our weekend on theBon Secour river at your house. The weather was perfect in mid October. The house accommodated our group nicely. The children really enjoyed the yard. They played ball and kayaked and fished. The morning sunrise was perfect and beautiful, birds dolphins and all!

Family Vacation

Wonderful stay on the Bon Secour

Our family enjoyed our stay so much. Very comfortable house and well taken care of. We love fishing and enjoyed the screened back porch watching the pelican and boats go by behind the house. The host was very responsive and made coordination easy.

Perfect secluded, great for fishing, boating and kayaking.

Loved getting away to a quiet, private river house. The owner was nice and accommodating. We had three fisheries within a mile and brought home fresh seafood to prepare to our liking.

Spring weekend

Comfortable & quiet escape for couples and families. Beautiful sunrises over the river every morning from the huge screened-in porch. Nice to sit on and listen to the rain or watch the many herons and other birds (saw an osprey while we were there) with the river boat traffic. Kayaks and fire pit were a nice touch and both worked well. Nice to have the covered parking under the house and easy in-out drive way to turnaround in since it’s at the end of the road. We didn’t have a boat for the dock but it was nice to sit on and looked like it would work well. Open kitchen with a huge amount of counter space open to the living area was nice to be able to interact while cooking and look out onto the river. We had to switch between heat and A/C several times with the Spring conditions while there and both worked fast and well. Internet worked well enough for streaming and a few meetings for my partner and I while we were there. The main Gulf Shores beach is about 20 minutes away but can be up to 45 with traffic. Publix (main grocery store) is about 15/20 mins away. Tin Top and Jesse’s both were good restaurants nearby. No sidewalks so it can be hard to run for those who like to. Might also be good to add a little binder with info about the area. Really nice to be so close to the beaches but to feel so much more quiet and not as hectic as the main Gulf Coast beaches have become. Overall, great spot to do nothing and relax.
