"The staff was very attentive. The chile cheese soufele , country potatoes,orange juice , tea/coffee, water and fresh fruit , granola, and yogurt were punctually served at your booked time and were quite filling. The afternoon wine and vegetable and humus dip was served from 4-5PM. If desired, a second glass was poured .This inn was once an old large home. It can accommodate 18 guests. Rooms for one are two are located in the home itself( two story home and no elevators) and a larger set alone...

"The place is great, great staff. My only 3 complaints are that both sofa beds in both rooms had some weird red stains, almost looked like blood and the hot tub wasn't even that hot. Other then that, I would still come back. Great spot"

"The room was mostly clean except for 2 small stains on one of the bedspreads. The room was as basic as a motel room can be - there was absolutely nothing inviting at all about the room. No continental breakfast and very low water pressure in the shower. The beds were comfortable."

"We enjoyed our stay and would choose this hotel again. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The location is close to most things and convenient. Breakfast was included which is a nice extra! And it was one of the few hotels in the Monterey area that had free parking. The only negative was that the walls were thin, but we were located on the backside away from the highway, which was great. We could hear people talking outside the room, in the hallways, or in the parking lot. But...

"Classic bait and switch they have a two sides of the hotel which are two separate buildings one building is renovated and nice and the other one looks like a haunted rundown motel. You need to make sure you're not in the haunted rundown motel park. It literally is dirty and really disgusting and did not enjoy staying there"

"I really appreciated my stay at the blue dolphin. The front staff were warm and welcoming, and give us great tips on places to eat. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept and managed. The location is hard to beat since it’s right next to the ocean! It is an affordable price and I hope you get to experience a wonderful stay here too."

"The property was beautiful. Very whimsical and cute. The parking was terrible. On the website it said there was street parking but they did not tell us that the entire street would be blocked off and there would be no parking due to a street festival that was taking place the next day. So we had to park a couple of blocks away. We chose the Cherry Room in the Black Barn which looked lovely but the pictures make it look bigger than it is. "This house is in a very important location on Route 1. The service at the front desk was good and the breakfast was good. The room was clean. Overall a very good hotel."
