The Accommodation
The Deluxe Suite on the first floor is exceptionally and luxuriously furnished and suitable for up to two people. It is truly one of a kind: As a family, we extensively renovated the beautiful Art Nouveau Villa Weitmar, built in 1906, and created six unique apartments with great attention to detail and custom craftsmanship.

The extensive modernization included, among other things, replacing the wooden beam ceilings with reinforced concrete ceilings, installing a sound-insulated floor with underfloor heating, and adding custom-made wooden fixtures. The lime-cement plaster with lime filler, combined with a ceiling height of approximately four meters, ensures a pleasant and relaxing indoor climate. The aesthetic appeal of the reinforced concrete ceilings was preserved, and we restored them to exposed concrete finishes. The entire building was equipped with a sustainable heating system.

Your retreat in the Private Spa:
To ensure nothing stands in the way of your retreat in the Private Spa, soundproof windows shield you from noise and street sounds, and the frosted glass—activated at the touch of a button—provides ample privacy. The electric blackout shades ensure a restful sleep in the king-size double bed—day and night.

The highlight:
The apartment features a sauna from the world’s leading manufacturer, Klafs, available to you around the clock. The sauna is made of high-quality Scandinavian spruce and reaches temperatures of up to 100 degrees Celsius. To cool off, there’s a walk-in rain shower with a cold-water jet right next to the sauna.
For the ultimate wellness experience, you can run a bath and enjoy your favorite Netflix series in the freestanding designer bathtub in front of the fireplace.

Guest Access
At Villa Weitmar, your getaway begins the moment you arrive. Check-in is digital, flexible, and contactless—with no key handoffs or waiting times.

• After booking, you’ll receive a secure link to a quick online registration process for you and your traveling companions. As soon as you’ve completed this simple process, your personal access will be set up.

• On the day of your arrival, access will automatically unlock for you at 3:00 p.m. sharp. You’ll enjoy complete independence until check-out at 11:00 a.m. on the day of your departure.

• Throughout your entire stay, you can conveniently unlock the doors using your smartphone or your individual PIN code on the keypad.

To ensure you can arrive feeling completely relaxed, you’ll of course receive all the important access details again on your arrival day as a little reminder.

Kitchen:
The apartment’s kitchen is fully equipped and features an oven, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a stovetop, a kettle, a Nespresso coffee machine, as well as dishes and silverware.

Location:
Villa Weitmar is ideally located south of downtown, right in the heart of Bochum-Weitmar, and offers the perfect setting: Numerous restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, and bars are all within walking distance. It serves as the perfect starting point for exploring Bochum while also offering a quiet retreat.

Just a few steps away is the castle park, which combines nature, architecture, and art. Adjacent to the picturesque park—which features a small playground—are the grounds of Haus Weitmar, a moated castle, the Sylvester Chapel, and the Underground Museum. The adjacent Weitmarer Holz, with its game reserve, is Bochum’s most beautiful wooded area and offers those seeking peace and nature the opportunity for a long walk through the woods. In addition, the Springorum-Trasse bike path runs through the Weitmar Castle Park.

Heading toward downtown, you’ll quickly reach the Ehrenfeld neighborhood with its charming cafés, restaurants, artisan shops, and unique boutiques. In the heart of the neighborhood is the renowned Schauspielhaus theater, and the famous Bermuda3Eck pub district and downtown are right nearby. Every Thursday, a weekly market takes place in Ehrenfeld from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Public Transportation:
The public transportation connections are ideal: The tram (lines 308/318) and a bus stop are just a few meters away from Villa Weitmar and will take you directly to the main train station and downtown in just a few minutes. For drivers, the A448 highway is right around the corner, ensuring quick and easy travel throughout the Ruhr region.

Parking:
In the backyard, camera-monitored parking spaces are available for €5.00 per day and are secured by an electric gate. Bicycles can be stored in the basement free of charge.

Other:
Smoking is prohibited throughout the building. A contractual penalty of €250.00 may be imposed for violations.

Washing machines and dryers are available in the communal basement for an additional fee.

For your safety, the common areas are under video surveillance (front entrance, stairwell, and backyard and its access).
