Check in was easy Samatha was very attentive. Breakfast was nice, with cooked eggs to your liking. Great location with fabulous views. Maybe the only improvement could be better mattresses.

Excellent stay. We were in the ocean view corner room. Terrific view. Samantha, one of the care takers, was exceptional, as was Andy, another staff/owner. Warm reception, all needs taken care of, clean comfortable room, with a great bed.

One of a kind experience staying right in front of the water in a boutique hotel. We watched the starry sky and sunrise as well as the hospitality from the staff and owner. We were also lucky enough to enjoy some amazing Bluff oysters jext door and the quality was amazing! The owner Andy is very chatty and accommodating which makes the stay more memorable!

It seems like the price is high for what you are getting. The location is beautiful by the ocean and within walking distance of the Bluff ocean trail. However, we were expecting a little bit more luxury. There was no unique character or coziness to the place you would expect of a boutique hotel. The staff are friendly and the bed was comfortable. The room was rather small, although it was over looking the ocean.

Starting with the positives. The hotel is situated overlooking the ocean, with a restaurant next door. It has a good car park. The continental aspect of breakfast is not great, however the choice of eggs and their cooking was excellent. The owner Andy is lovely and very welcoming however other staff at the hotel not so engaging. The boutique hotel description is wrong, it’s more a B&B . There is no bar and restaurant in the hotel and limited opening times at the bar and restaurant next door. The restaurant was poor and managed the day we ate, by again a manager without great customer service ability . The room we had needs revamping and repairs made to woodwork in the main room and bathroom. The rooms have single glazing that steams up and any heaters are noisy. The walls of the other rooms are thin, so try to talk quietly, you can clearly hear people snoring through the walls. The whole room feels dark, shabby and uncared for. We went with an open mind but should have taken into account other reviews from the past few years. The reviews are very similar, so can’t understand why they are not acted on, as this place has so much potential if given a revamp by the owners. Andy you are a great guy,you have a lovely personality and deserve success with your business, but please consider the reviews you are getting to make changes or employ a business manager to assist managing improvements and ultimately increasing customer satisfaction and experience. The room and entire hotel was spotless, the room had lots of amenities and the owner, Andy, was super helpful and went above and beyond what we expected. He even drove us to and from the ferry to go to Stewart island. Would highly recommend this hotel!

It is at the absolute end of the island close to walking trails, the chain link (of Maui) the other end of the link is on Stewart Island in Lee Bay. Room was very clean, amenities provided were excellent and you also were provided with a full breakfast. I would without hesitation recommend.

The owners were super friendly and very helpful and kind. The breakfast was good and there were some interesting trails near the accomodation.
