"We stayed here for the night as we were going to the Farmers Dog pub for dinner. This is a great pub/restaurant with rooms. We were in the annexe across the court yard. Room was nice with plenty of space . Complimentary water, hot drinks, biscuits, shower toiletries and comfy top quality bedding. The only downside was the shower was a little awkward. Big waterfall shower but fitted a bit close to the taps so in order to be underneath it you had to stand right by the taps over the plug hole and...

"We had a fabulous room , deluxe king suite with garden room view . Super comfortable with small kitchen area - great for our two night stay . Oven , hob, fridge etc . Room and bathroom clean with lovely views of the grounds and parkland beyond . Our second stay at this hotel . "

"Parking easy Reception staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Rooms were amazing and the hotel itself is a wonderful historic building. 2 great bars with a good choice of beverages. Evening meal was excellent and the loaded fries were sensational. Breakfast was also a nice experience, staff all warm and friendly and the menu was varied. I had the full breakfast which was faultless. I highly recommend this hotel, we went as 2 couples and all 4 of us loved it. I would 100% stay again. "

"Been several times to this wonderful pub, but this year we ate the most amazing food! The stafff are very friendly and the atmosphere was fabulous. We would definitely recommend The Lion "
