Host was very detailed in communicating check in and check out times and procedures. House could have been cleaner and could have had more towels, etc. The house was very spacious and the kids loved the game room. Every room had an AC unit in it and the house stayed cool even without central air. All in all, it was a good stay!

Good place to stay

Property was as pictured and described- communication with owner was good with prompt response- yard could use mowing but that doesn’t affect the stay (just the looks of the property); check in and out was easy. Good place for a large family and/or multiple families and friends. Would recommend a stay here.

This was a work trip. We only required a place to sleep and make meals. It was fine for that. The property is needing some maintenance. The doors did not work well. The kitchen light can not be turned off.

Family Wedding Trip

We had a party of 8 staying at the house for wedding festivities. The 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and the location were perfect for our needs. There were a couple of minor issues and they were immediately addressed, which we appreciated. It was a memorable trip.

The house was really nice.

Accommodations were good the host responded to questions promptly. The only complaint was the lawn had not been manicured. However, I would most definitely stay there again.

Glen Iris Gem

Location was superb for this graduation gathering. LOVED the covered patio for our family cookout!!There were a few issues with receptacles that didn’t work but we worked around that. A few more items in kitchen would be nice like cutter ng board. An informational notebook ok with WiFi and garbage info would have been helpful…but host was very responsive whenever we had questions.

This is an older Birmingham house with many issues. The house had the space for 2 families of 4. Each room has a wall unit or portable air conditioner because the central air system does not work very well. The common areas of the house remain pretty warm, but the bedrooms stay cool when the portable air conditioners are running. However, because all of the portable units have to be running if the bedrooms are occupied, the breakers kept tripping and needed to be reset multiple times during the week. The kitchen cabinets were dirty and had wood (and other stuff) debris on the shelves and in the drawers. When the downstairs doors were opened for the first time there were multiple screws that fell off the doors and/or door frames. The downstairs doors required effort to make sure they were closed and locked. We had to make sure the doors were secure because my vehicle was broken into during our first night. Not the worst area of Birmingham, but also not the most safe feeling either.

Thanksgiving in Birmingham

Utilized VRBO for our Thanksgiving stay in Birmingham. We chose the house due to amenities (games, number of bedrooms, indoor and outdoor spaces) and location, and this did not disappoint. While there will always be things that come up - there were a few things we noticed: there weren't many pots/pans to cook with, necessitating us to get some disposable pans, etc. The TV remotes were finicky and took a couple of hours to figure out. We also had issues with the auto door locks, but that could have been as much operator error as anything. Finally, while everything was put up and in its place, upon closer inspection, it could have used a more thorough cleaning, especially in the basement/game room area. Overall, we were happy we spent this time in Birmingham!
