"Newly refurbished excellent rooms even the single one I had was a reasonable size spotlessly clean with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast very good and the staff were helpful and polite "

"Southcliff has a great location high above the beach. I got a great view of a massive thunderstorm over France. It also has a smallish lift (elevator) to all floors. My ensuite bathroom room was small but adequate. The window was difficult to open (and keep open). Two electrical outlets are not enough in the 21st century."

"Used the hotel as a night stop before an early ferry. It served thus purpose well was clean fidy with an easy check in helpful manager / owner. The hotel is a little dated but tidy and great for our 1 night stay only 15 minutes from either the ferry or eurotunnel."

"Have stayed here a few times. The clientele here can be a bit mixed and have seen some interesting characters but the rooms are clean and comfortable and more often or not with a lovely view of the harbour. For the price I can't fault it. If you want something a bit more upmarket you have to pay for it. But for a bed for the night and the location to the port - this place is excellent."

"Based on the property description, I was expecting something different. It is a room in an old house. The proprietor was kind, helpful, and accommodating. It was enough for one night and the price was right, but I likely wouldn't return. We had problems with the WC. The location was good, close to the train station and walkable distance to the seaside and city center. If you have an allergy to dogs, pass on this. "Nothing is too difficult for a very hospitable host who personally welcomes you to her home. More than pleasant, it was a very comfortable stay, and i would definitely recommend to anyone. If i get back to Folkestone, i will almost certainly be looking to return to this wonderful little B&B."
