Beautifully positioned in the stunning fishing village of Appledore is Snookers - this terraced holiday property is the perfect location for your visit.

Snookers is accessed via a cobbled footpath, just a short stroll away from the quayside, where you can watch the boats come in and the yachts sailing across the estuary. It is the perfect holiday choice for a relaxing coastal escape at any time of year. This delightful, historic property was once the snooker hall for the adjoining Bell Inn. It retains much of the original character, whilst providing spacious holiday accommodation for families and couples alike. The large living space provides the perfect spot to relax after a busy day exploring this delightful location.

Snookers is situated just a short walk away from the centre of Appledore, which is one of the prettiest villages in North Devon, with its myriad of narrow streets, quaint cottages, pubs, restaurants, craft shops, art galleries and the bustling quayside. You can take the ferry or drive round to Instow on the opposite side of the estuary, with its sandy beach, bars and restaurants. The wide golden sandy beaches of Northam Burrows and Westward Ho!, which are popular with surfers, are just 2 miles away. Bideford, Exmoor, Clovelly and Hartland Quay are close by and the area is a must for water sports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen. Whilst walkers and cyclists will enjoy the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by. For family fun, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Park are both situated close by. Fishing, horse riding and watersports within 5 miles. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

NB Parking is in a privately owned gated yard just around the corner from the property around a 30 second walk if that. And this property does not accept dogs.

Cosy cottage

Lovely, characterful cottage, which was warm and cosy and had everything we needed. Easy to walk to the bus stop, local shops and amazing walks along the estuary and beach. Had tasty meals at the pubs and restaurant. Good to have a parking space within the narrow, winding street.

Christmas at Snookers

We had a great Christmas at Snookers in Appledore. Sarah had kindly left us some mulled wine, stollen & mince pies for our arrival. The property was even more spacious than we had imagined and little touches like a real miniature Christmas tree and lovely red Poinsettia were very welcoming. The property was immaculate and very well equipped. We cooked a Christmas lunch for our family and there was plenty of room for everyone to play games - the children loved the spiral staircase. Thank you for a very enjoyable few days.

Lovely short break

We loved our few nights at this house, very clean and spacious for us. Very useful having 2 bathrooms although poor water pressure meant only one person could shower at a time. Our kids loved the spiral stair case and found it a big adventure the first couple of times they went up/down it. The location was perfect, a very easy walk to the quay from were most of the shops and eating places could be found. Would recommend this house for either short or long breaks, thank you

Family Break

This is our second visit to Appledore and we loved this property, it was perfect for us. The bedrooms were very spacious and having three bathrooms was a real bonus. The open plan living area is something we really love and especially because our two year old granddaughter could wander around freely. The location of Snookers was great too, just a short walk from the Quay where we could get a morning coffee and sit watching the world go by. We will certainly return to Snookers again. Thank you.

Great place to stay

We had a great stay at Snookers. The cottage is really spacious and in a good location - just a five minute walk around to the quayside and a great view of the river. The cottage was comfortable and really well stocked. We very much appreciated the supplies to make a cup of tea on arrival and a lovely biscuit to accompany it. These little touches are really nice. Appledore itself is a great place to stay. The village has several interesting shops and galleries to explore and, of course, there’s the river to watch to boats and catch crabs over the quayside! We ate at a few different places in Appledore and all served good food. There’s a good convenience store nearby. I would definitely recommend Snookers for a holiday base. The parking spot is a bonus too!

Perfect Cottage in Perfect Location

We spent a long weekend here as we had a wedding to go to in the area and thought we'd spend some additional time in the area. Accommodation was perfect and location also - easy to get to and easy access to the beautiful Devon and Cornwall countryside and beaches in the area. There were three of us staying but it would have been spacious even with double that number.

Clean but needs attention.

Appledore is a lovely village in great location. Snookers is well presented internally, nice biscuits, generally clean but very uncomfortable beds. New mattresses urgently required all round. A cafetière would be nice ! Outside, the shared patio from where you can see the sea, needs some tlc. The property doesn’t have a garden. With some attention I would recommend Snookers.

Snookers Holiday Cottage

Very nice cottage in a quiet location but still close to all the village amenities. Everything was clean and well laid out. Private parking was a definite plus as street parking would not have been good.

Comfortable property in a good location

Snookers is a nice little property. Well presented and comfortable. The location is brilliant for walking the coastal path and Appledore is an interesting village with a couple of good pubs and eateries. We enjoyed our stay. A hairdryer would be very useful.

A cosy Christmas

Lovely, spacious cottage, clean and well supplied with everything we needed for a family get together over Christmas - located near the sea with secure parking and beautifully quiet. We really enjoyed staying here and would like to return sometime.
