Family Home close to Downtown & Beach!

Come and vacation in this freshly renovated home located at 815 Wilson St. South Haven, MI 49090. We have put a lot of time and efforts into creating this home and ask that only respectable families rent with us. We do not rent to bachelor- bachelorette party's etc. If you are a family looking for a quiet street to enjoy a fun and relaxing vacation please keep reading!

We offer 4 bedrooms (there is an additional bedroom that is attached to one of the other rooms) and 3.5 bathrooms. On the 2nd floor we have 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. We have a 2nd floor master suite with a renovated bathroom, king bed, TV and sitting area which also folds out into a twin bed. In our 2nd bedroom we have twin bunk beds with a fully renovated bathroom across the hall. The 3rd (& 4th) bedroom located on the 2nd floor has a queen bed with a smaller children's room attached. In the kids room, we have a cozy full bed, TV with DVD player and fun decorations for the kids! All of our bedrooms and bathrooms have more then enough closet space for all of your vacation essentials.
Conveniently located on the 1st floor is another bedroom that we call the Grandparents room, with it's own private bathroom and walk in shower. This room is perfect for the couple or individual who does not want to travel upstairs and would like to have peace and quite at night when everyone has gone to bed. We also have 2 living rooms located at the front and back of the house. One living room opens up to a fully renovated kitchen with new shaker style cabinets, quartz counter tops, stainless steel appliances and an island with seating for 4. We also have 2 dining tables to accommodate the guests staying. Since everyone loves to socialize in the kitchen we knocked down 2 walls to create an open floor plan that flows from the kitchen to an eating area to the back living room. There is also a powder room and laundry closet off of the kitchen with a full size washer and dryer. In the living room off of the kitchen we have installed new sliding glass doors that open up to the private fenced in backyard. In the backyard you will find beautiful mature trees with a brand new 18 ft x 20 ft concrete patio that is ready to be used. Inside we have also added new lighting fixtures, tamper resistant outlets and fans to almost every room. We have small children ourselves so this home is some what "baby proofed". We have also installed luxury vinyl plank flooring for durability and wear & tear of children. A side note we feel important to mention is that our cleaning company we use is a "green clean" company that only uses all natural cleaning products that are child safe.
We pride our selves in the little details we have put into this home and hope you too can appreciate the little things we have added!

Our home is conveniently located just steps away from a wonderful quiet park that is great for the kids with slides, swings, play areas and a baseball field! From our home it is a 2 minute drive to Meijer Grocery Store, a 10-15 minute walk to town and 20 minute walk to the beach. Grandpa Dick’s Getaway is a GREAT location for your next South Haven family vacation!!

We really enjoyed our 3 generation family vacation at the home. It is a great home in a beautiful neighborhood. It was a nice walk to the downtown and closer than I expected to everything. We would for sure stay here again.

We had a wonderful vacation in South Haven Michigan. Our stay at Grandpa Dick’s was one that we will never forget.We have a family of nine; 6 adults, 3 children (2,5,11). The house was amazing as it had different spaces to be able to spread out. The kids could play while the adults could rest. The first level bedroom worked well for the grandparents, and the bunk beds were a hit with kids. The owners have thought of everything that a family might need online no a vacation house. Crib for little ones, kitchen fully equipped with all kinds of cooking items, excellent appliances, comfortable furniture, 3 tvs, outside seating & large patio/table. The town is walkable from the house, and we rented golf carts to cruise around in. Just minutes from North Beach, and the owners have a stock of beach equipment for guests to use.We have rented vacation homes for many years, and Grandpa Dick’s is our favorite. We will be back!.

Great place for a large family

This was a perfect place for our adult married children and grandbaby. Each couple had their own bathroom which was great. It was a short walk to downtown South Haven, the beach and the Kal-Haven trail. We would go back!

Perfect Family Getaway

We had 6 adults and 2 kids very comfortably in this house for a week. Shelby is a wonderful host - the house was clean and well-equipped for beach days and kids toys/books! We walked everywhere in town throughout the week - it was a bit too far of a walk to the beach with all our stuff but there’s plenty of parking at the beach so it was no big deal. Would recommend!

Labor Day Weekend!

This was my third stay at Grandpa Dick's, and this is my favorite place to stay in South Haven! Consistently clean and well-kept. Perfect location! Close to town and the beach while being in a quiet neighborhood. The floor plan and bedroom to bathroom ratio make it perfect for any group. 10 out of 10.

Perfect stay!

Had a great week with family! House was super clean and had everything we needed and then some!! From all of the baby gear to the beach gear to the great fire pit and grill…all was fantastic! Great location! Very short walk to downtown and then onto the pier. Would definitely stay again! Go to SoHo and stay at this fantastic property!!

Family fun

Shelby’s house is the perfect spot for a family vacationing in South Haven. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our little ones. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances, cooking supplies, plenty of dishes. Lots of outdoor toys and all the beach equipment you could need. The house is lovely and well taken care of. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to stay at the house again.

Family vacation in SoHa

Our week at Grandpa Dick’s was great. The home is just as described. There was plenty of room for the four of us (parents with two young-adult children) with space to spare. Everything we needed was supplied. The walk to town was easy - 25 minutes to the furthest end of the pier. The host was very responsive to our inquiries regarding things to do in the area.

Great Family Spot in South Haven

House was perfect for our family stay for eight...Grandma, Grandpa, two sons, one DIL and three grandchildren 8, 6 and 3. Lots of items for the beach, items to play with in the yard, board games, etc. Kitchen was extremely well stocked as well. Packard Beach, which we chose, was walkable for the 8 and 6 year old, though they chose to ride in the van one way or both at times. Downtown an easy walk as well as to the Maritime Museum. Shelby was responsive and quick to answer any questions.

Great get away!

We are a group of six women and this house worked perfectly for us but it would also be great for any large group or multigenerational family. Lots of bedrooms and baths and a large open kitchen next to the family room. Lots of additional space including outdoor areas. The owner was wonderful to work with and everything went very smoothly.

Memorial weekend

Excellent home- so welcoming. Owner has everything you could possibly need for a relaxed stay. Lots of open space, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Fenced in backyard is perfect for kids. Nice park within walking distance. Everything was updated. Quiet neighborhood. It was alittle far to walk to beach, but we rented a golf cart which was both fun and made trips to the beach easy. Owner was very easy to communicate with, quickly answered my messages. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful family time!

The house was perfect for a three generation family gathering. The house was spacious with room for people to spread out as well as gather together. Bedrooms were super comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped, lots of chairs, toys and towels for the beach. We’re had everything we needed and then some. Wonderful beach town house for families!

This house is exactly as listed and more! Perfect for a family beach vacation for all ages. This house has every amenity you could ask for and even those you would not expect (like beach towels, beach umbrellas, a foldable crib…etc). The house felt perfectly sized for our 6 adults and 1 infant - each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The house is in walking distance to downtown South Haven and is super close to a park with a basketball hoop, baseball field, swings, slides and sandbox. It’s walkable to the beach but not when you’re carrying all your stuff but there’s plenty of parking at the beaches to drive. Shelby was a very helpful and responsive host and we would absolute stay here again!

Perfect summer spot

Perfect summer spot for whole family! We had for kids under 7 that loved the bunk room and secret spot. The 2 living areas also provided room to spread out…..and have a kids room and adult room! The kitchen was fully equipped equipped! The main floor suite offered a perfect spot for grandparents. Great location—close to parks, downtown, beaches……and golf cart rental. The house had everything! Owners were quick to respond to all inquiries!

Wonderful beach getaway

The house was beautiful and had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, and we didn't have to search for anything because everything was easily accessible. The beach gear, especially the beach wagon, was incredibly useful and saved the day. Overall, everything was fantastic.

Perfect beach house

This property was amazing - probably the most well stocked rental we’ve ever stayed in. They really went above and beyond to make sure everything you needed would be available. We had 5 kids with us (ages 4, 3, 2, 1 and 0) and enjoyed the kid dishes, high chair, crib, beach wagon, beach toys, and kids chairs to sit around the fire pit. We had 2 families traveling so it was a great amount of space for us to feel comfortable and everyone to have privacy when they needed it. Walking to downtown and the beach was very easy, making it even better that we didn't have to move our cars all weekend long. The kids room off the one bedroom was perfect for our boys and they thought it was the coolest space to hang out - it totally stole the show! I would highly recommend this place!

South Haven

As noted above, we were very pleased with everything. We were a group of 4 women who have known each other since high school. We are ‘mature’ women who graduated in 1960, and get together every couple of years. I had no problem choosing the property and making the reservation. The hostess was very nice to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this exceptional home.

Marvelous stay with Shelby!

What a fantastic place. This is the home you want to rent. We have rented many homes before to travel with our young children. This was our first trip with my older parents and two siblings and the layout was absolutely perfect so that everyone had their space and we also could enjoy our time together. Shelby's place is wonderfully cozy and has the extras most rental homes do not- towels and chairs for the beach, a high quality grill, a crock pot for easy family meals, blankets to cozy on the couch with, and more than just basics in the pantry. If you're traveling with littles you'll find all of the things you rather not travel with- child sized cups, plates, bowls, silverware, kid yard chairs, beach toys and even bedtime books. Thank you Shelby for being willing to provide not just a home but the true comforts of home while traveling. I highly recommend that renters also consider bringing bikes or renting from the fabulous Rock 'n Roll Cycle shop. They rented high quality bikes for the whole family, including a tag-a-long, a trailer, a small bike with training wheels and even let us borrow a bike daily to help teach our daughter how to bike without training wheels. Biking down "downtown" and to the beach was an awesome decision in lieu of dealing with traffic and parking. Finally, the neighbors are wonderfully friendly.
