Sleepy Bear: Luxe cabin, private lake, hottub, caves, fast WiFi @ BearTrackLake

  • A Sleepy Bear's Dream is, as the name suggests, a dream. It's our second cabin and sleeps up to five in two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, which overlooks the great room. A 21-foot tall tree sits in the middle of the great room, supporting the main beams of the building.

    The front of the house has a bow-shaped deck extending over the water where fish eagerly await a handout (from your provided fish food). Both bedrooms have private balconies, and huge outdoor living spaces are on each side of the building. The loft has its own balconies, which can be reached through patio doors. Our cabin is now equipped with up to 300Mbps fiber internet.

    The ground floor contains a large recreational area featuring a hot tub and pool table. There's also a private dock with an electric trolling boat available for rent.

    Besides the cabin, the property has many features that you'll get to enjoy while staying here. From the caves, overhangs, and cliffs to the beautiful trees and waterfalls, it's hard to imagine ever being bored at our cabin rental. We promise you will want to return. A boat or canoe can be rented in season (April–October) for an additional fee, pending availability. The boat rental is $75 for your entire stay, plus tax, pending availability and seasonality.

Well appointed cabin. Our family of 5 enjoyed all the amenities of the cabin and the surrounding grounds exploring the caves. We lucked out with nice weather so we spent a lot of time on the various decks taking in the sounds of nature and feeding the fish. Definitely would book again.

Best cabin we have been staying in so far. Beautiful property at quiet lake.Very peaceful and relaxing. We were traveling with two teenagers and they were swimming in the lake ,fishing,playing pool and of course enjoying the jacuzzi that was inside!Every room has a balcony with chairs and the house itself is surrounded with decks.So many spots to unwind and relax.There are caves and cliffs few steps away. Not to mention very friendly fish and turtle waiting to be fed with food that was especially provided for them.Cabin itself was clean and had everything you needed from cooking utensils, spices, soaps,towels bunch of chairs ,fire pit and flat grill. Absolutely amazing place.We will be back next year.Thank you for sharing this place with us.

Perfect Getaway Location!

This house and surrounding property were wonderful and exactly as the owners described! It’s the perfect place to stay for relaxation but also close enough to lots of activities in the Red River Gorge area.

Great cabin great location! A few things misleading on the listing: there's no "gym" (treadmill) and the kayak/canoe do not come with the cabin even though they are listed as amenities. Also the owner, at 8pm on a Friday night of Memorial Day weekend, said we were being too loud. Quiet hours are listed as 10pm to 8am. We complied, but that left a sour note.

End of March Visit

Our 2 night visit was very enjoyable. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Hiking trails were great. A very good destination for relaxing.

Awesome Cabin!

This cabin is exceptional! Great location on the lake and a several great areas to explore (caves, cliffs, hiking trails, etc) on the property. We rented a boat and did some fishing as well. I highly recommend this cabin!

My family enjoyed the cabin and the outdoors. The pool table and hot tub was so much fun and no need leave. We also walked the paths to the caves and enjoyed our time. Clean as stocked with everything you need.

Wonderful Property!

This was an amazing property! Everything you needed was here. Plus - the cabin was nearby to activities, but secluded once you get to the area. We loved it! Had a great time fishing, hiking, checking out the caves, etc. Highly recommend!

Great getaway!

Most importantly the home was very clean! Hiking on the property, wonderful hot tub, fishing and very quiet. They even provided an amazing variety of spices and amenities which was amazing as we didn't need to go to the store for the few things we forgot! Wonderful host and we will definitely be back!
