"I always stay at the Hudson Plaza Motel when I come into NYC. It's affordable, great value and located close to public transport easy to get to Jersey City and into Manhattan Every room I have stayed in has been clean and very comfortable. There is laundry on site and the staff are always welcoming and helpful "

If it's just an overnight to catch a flight, then no problem and it's ok."

"The star was better than expected. The breakfast was great. The rooms are very comfortable. The only thing was with the shuttle that picked us when we arrived. Nobody told us we needed to call and requested that. The info says it will be available 24 hrs, and we were expecting it would be doing rounds. It needs to be stated to prevent misunderstandings. Other than that, everything was great."

"Inspite of being in the hotel business for a long time, Howard Johnson still has a good cleanliness standard , welcoming front desk and staff and one of the lowest pricing. Aside from being so conveniently near the Newark Airport, it also has so much room for parking."

"I was suppose to stay for 3 days. But I checked out the next day. My room was not clean. The sofa had stains and the floor was dirty. Not only that the pillows on the bed smelled so bad. They say they have room service and that is not true. You have to go downstairs to the restaurant to place your order for food. Then they bring it to your room. I would not recommend this hotel."

"Both elevators were not working at the time of check in. Several guests waited in the lobby for close to an hour while others chose to take the stairs. A couple of able-bodied young men (guests) offered to take our luggage to our room on the second floor, but due my husband's disability, he could not climb the stairs. The front desk clerk eventually was able to find us a room on the first floor."

We tried several numbers to reach the hotel's front desk, but kept getting AI and the same message, even after selecting 0. The desk clerk did not apologize or even acknowledge our frustration. Our bathroom floor was sticky, the tub had visible dirt and the sink was clogged! There were no...

"Sad that for a renaissance brand, it didn’t live up to what I was hoping for. Toilet didn’t flush upon arrival, paint in tub peeling, the light upon entry was busted. Small details, yet big impact. Also smelled musty, not a sign"
