A gracious step back in time.

This aged Bishops home has been renovated down to the finest detail with focus on guest comfort. Christine has an exceptional knowledge of the area and is a lovely person to deal with. The hooded monks dressing gown was a lovely touch. David & Judi.

Lovely old mansion

The owner, Christine, could not have been more helpful, even organised dinner reservations for us at a very good nearby restaurant. The hotel is beautifully furnished with several indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing and enjoying a drink. Our room was large with an extremely comfortable bed. The only niggle was that our bathroom, although exclusively for our use, was separate from the bedroom. Breakfast is included in the rate and was very well done. The dining rooms have formal tables which are set with full china, glassware and table linen, all very refined.

Gem in Bathurst

This boutique hotel is an absolute gem. We arrived without any specific expectations to find this delightful country manor. The owner is charming hostess with an eye for interior style and is also a fabulous chief. Breakfast is included but dinners can be accommodated if you negotiate before hand. I would go back to Bathurst just to stay for a weekend and I would take a group of family or friends with me. Special events can be catered for.

Comfort, class and warm hospitality

Our second stay and planning our next one. Booked for my birthday with my partner. Christine and her staff are so very welcoming and you feel at home the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble ever and whilst we had activities to do in town we always wanted just to come back and enjoy the fire and peace of the manor. Daily prepared fresh breakfasts cooked to your liking, great wine and in a grand old residence. Thank you Christine! See you again

Wonderful hospitality where you right at home

A perfect stay to reload our batteries! Luxurious, welcoming, cozy and beautifully renovated hotel with lots of nice details. Our host made us feel very welcome and we were spoiled with tea and home made chocolate cake and a glass of sparkling at arrival. Even the cats are friendly and like to curl up in your lap! We got some very useful recommendations for restaurants and things to see and do in Bathurst and surrounds. The 'brekkie stack' was a great start to the day! A wonderful experience we wish would last for ever!

A better home away from home

Very warm welcome, upgrade to a very comfortable room. Lovely terrace where we enjoyed tea, beautiful garden where we were able to catch some sun. Nice to to have TV's in each room, it was very relaxing.

Total Opulence

It is an exepience of delight that you engage in at Bishops Gate. Everything has been considered from the beautiful furnishings, placement of flowers and objects of art. The rooms are spacious and elegant with special touches throughout. Bishops Gate takes you back to a time of opulence and it is a real treat to stay. Christine is very welcoming and generous with her hospitality. The breakfast was outstanding with an emphasis on local produce. Christine has an excellent knowledge of food and wine of the area as well as being a gourmet chef.

Great Weekend Escape

The staff were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel was gorgeous and the grounds beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay, wish we had more time to stay longer.

Luxury and Decadence - we loved it!

If you're looking for a treat while staying in Bathurst, and budget is not an issue, then spoil yourself to a stay at Bishop's Court. Christine, the proprietor, could not be more accommodating. She has renovated this beautiful old mansion with unerring taste. The rooms are wonderfully comfortable. The private bathroom was not ensuite, which may be an issue for those of a shy disposition, but did not bother us. Care has been taken with every detail. Special mention must go to the breakfast cooked by Barb - delicious. We shall certainly return when next in the area,

Luxury, style & inspiration in Bathurst

Felt welcomed as friends the moment we arrived. We were shown thru the whole house & met Latte the kitty. Even saw the wonderful kitchen. We were upgraded to the magnificent Bishop's room & loved our private bathroom. Breakfast felt like I was in a scene from Downton Abbey. Our visit coincided with their open garden which is magnificent. We didnt want to leave. Want to stay longer & spend quality time on the verandahs. Christine & co are talented beyond words.

Business trip with a little luxury

I was recommended to stay at Bishops Court by a colleague. I was not disappointed. From front to back, this hotel oozed luxury. Christine, the owner, personally greeted me and helped me with my luggage. Then poured each of us a glass of wine and we sat and chatted about our day in the beautifully appointed lounge. Not only was my room beautifully appointed, I also had my own private bathroom and fully furnished varandah overlooking the magnificent acre or so of gardens. It was enormous! Nothing was too much trouble for Christine and her team. I was treated to a beautiful breakfast - personally cooked for me in an amazing 5-star setting in the formal dining room, followed by a personal tour of the house and gardens. I felt like royalty for a day. If ever you find yourself in Bathurst, this hotel is an absolute MUST !
