This newly constructed, comfortably furnished three story custom cabin will steal your heart with its special artistic touches, unique primary bedroom loft, oversized windows and wrap around decks.

The newly furnished living room with scenic windows overlooking an Aspen grove, is a welcoming space to gather with friends and family. Kick back and relax near the crackling wood burning stove, or step out onto the wrap around decks, and immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the White River National Forest, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The unique log staircase leading to the primary bedroom loft is adorned with beautiful newel post wildlife carvings. At the foot of a king sized bed with a memory foam mattress sits a claw foot bathtub.

The spacious lower level, with radiant in floor heat, has two comfortable bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa in the family room. The fully equipped kitchen contains everything needed to prepare a great meal,

DURING WINTER MONTHS A 4WD OR ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE IS A MUST, due to unpaved and steep mountain roads and potential for high level of snow. Chains may also be required if extreme winter conditions exist.

Due to the location of the cabin, there is NO WiFi or cell phone coverage.

It is ESSENTIAL that you print written instructions and arrive before dark due to the location of the cabin and lack of cell or WiFi reception.

This home does NOT have air conditioning although there are fans for your comfort. This home stays fairly cool in the summer due to the higher elevation.

The cabin provides water from a well so it is recommended that you bring drinking water with you.

NO OPEN FIRES PERMITTED on the property. There is NO grill at the cabin and bringing your own grill is NOT permitted. Charcoal grills, fire pits, deep fat cookers, fire tables, outdoor heaters of any kind or any other device with an open flame or exposed coils is strictly prohibited.

Included in the price of your rental is an Administrative Fee for $59. This is required protection insurance provided by Waivo for up to $2500 in accidental damage. The full agreement and list of coverage details can be found in the Additional Rules section on the checkout page.

LOCATION
Within a 25 minute drive you are in the historic, quaint town of Basalt with its unique shops, bars and great restaurants. If you prefer to eat in, groceries can be purchased at Whole Foods or local grocery stores, within a short 10 minute drive from downtown Basalt.

Experience a recreational paradise in the Rocky Mountains with endless year round activities to choose from! Summer is an outdoor enthusiasts dream with some of the best fly fishing and boating in the area at Ruedi Reservoir and the `Gold Medal` waters of the Frying Pan River. The surrounding White River National Forest offers the best in mountain biking and hiking in the summer and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the winter. World class downhill skiing, in Aspen and Snowmass, are located within a short 45 minute drive. During fall months, the area offers some of the best deer and elk hunting in the valley.

HOUSE RULES
These rules must be observed on the premises of the Property you have booked. The renter of the Property shall be referred to herein as the “Guest” or “You” and the owner of the Property shall be referred to herein as the “Homeowner”. You, as the Guest, accept and assume full responsibility for ensuring any person permitted at the Property abides by the rules expressed herein. Upon booking, reservation and payment, you agree to abide by the following rules:
A. You are responsible for all occupants of the home and must require that all rules herein, as well as the within the Short Term Rental Agreement, are followed.
B. No one under the age of twenty-five (25) shall qualify to rent this property. You shall not rent or stay at the Property unless there shall be at least one Guest over the age of twenty-five (25) concurrently renting or staying at the Property. All children must be under direct adult supervision at all times.
C. Smoking, vaping and all recreational drug use are NOT permitted in the house or on the Property. A fine will be assessed if these policies are not observed.
D. You must take Garbage/Trash to the curb on the scheduled day(s) of trash removal and not before, as indicated in the Guest Guide located within the Property.
E. Pets are NOT permitted in the house or on the Property unless otherwise stated in the listing. Manager is not authorized to make exceptions to these terms. Not abiding by these terms may result in eviction and forfeiture of amounts paid.
F. You, or any other person on the Property during your stay, may not interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of the neighbors. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM daily. Quiet hours consist of no music and keeping all audio at a minimum level out of respect for the surrounding residents.
G. You are solely responsible for any other person at the Property. Additional persons, other than the number of guests reserved and booked in the original booking and reservation, may NOT stay overnight at the Property.
H. You will be responsible for any fine and/or violation that is imposed on the Homeowner due to the negligence of any person permitted on the Property by you.
I. You shall abide by all Federal, State and Local laws.
J. You shall notify the local police and Homeowner of any illegal activity that is witnessed in or around the Property.
K. You agree not to use the Property for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to, the sale, use or possession of illegal drugs on or around the Property.
L. Absolutely no hazardous materials are permitted to be in or around the Property at any time.
M. You may not use or store Kerosene or space heaters at any time in or around the Property.
N. The burning of candles is not permitted within the Property, with the exception of birthday candles.
O. Under no circumstances may a stove, oven or range be used as a source of heat. All appliances are to be used only for their intended purpose.
P. Charcoal and Gas Barbecue grills may not be used inside any structure located on the Property.
Q. You may not bring your own grill (of any type) or fire pit for use on the premises.
R. Tents or other structures may not be erected on the Property.
S. Commercial photography or filming is not permitted on the Property.
T. You shall use ventilating fans at all times when bathing or cooking.
U. All windows and doors must remain closed during inclement weather.
V. You shall notify Manager of any pest control problems.
W. The use of any provided swimming pool or hot tub is at your own risk. You further understand that any interruption of use will not alter or change any of the terms of this Agreement.
X. You may not block the fire escape at any time.
Y. The Homeowner does not permit large gatherings at the Property. A disturbance caused by you or any person permitted on the Property during your stay which results in any police action, complaints from neighbors is considered sufficient cause for immediate termination of this Agreement, immediate eviction and forfeiture of all monies paid as permitted by law.
Z. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. No towels or linens shall be taken from the house. A cleaning fee is automatically added and charged to you for each booking and reservation. You must keep the Property, inside and out, clean and sanitary at all times. Even though a cleaning fee is charged, you are expected to leave the Property in a clean, neat and orderly condition.

Unfortunately, we were unable to safely access the property this weekend. Although the listing stated that 4WD was required, the road was completely unmaintained and extremely icy to the point that our 4WD vehicle began sliding backwards down the hill.Additionally, there was no cell service or Wi-Fi available, and one member of our group slipped and was injured while attempting to walk down the driveway due to the icy conditions hindering the rest of their weekend. Because the property was not safely accessible and the conditions were not adequately disclosed in the listing, we did not feel it was safe to stay. We are requesting a full refund due to these safety concerns. We understand weather isunpredictable, but the lack of road maintenance and safety disclosure made the property inaccessible despite following the listing's requirements.Please let us know how you'd like to proceed. Thank you.

Very clean, very peaceful. Perfect location between Aspen, Marble and Glenwood springs. Be sure to follow the check in steps, meaning you want to arrive in the day time. Definitely missed having wifi as you needed to drive into Basalt to do any research.

Very comfortable stay. Lovely location and very pretty views on the property and traveling to the property. The kitchen is well equipped to make food. The lack of WiFi was a bummer especially since there is no cell phone service near the cabin.

Nice place close to the Frying Pan

The location of the cabin is great! Great access to the Ruedi Reservoir and Frying Pan River. Place could be a bit cleaner as there is a bit of a mice problem, but not something I can complain too much about. Would still recommend as the cabin is nice spot to get away into nature.

Mountain Home Vacation

This is a beautiful property and location. Home was awesome. We had a wonderful stay and everything we needed. The only problem and the only reason for not giving the rating all fives is that we did not have hot water the whole time we were there. However, they did compensate us for that. We knew that there was no cell phone service and no land line so we were fine with that except when we had no hot water there was no way to contact management company to let them know until we drove into town so we could text them. And then they thought they had it fixed but it wasn’t and again, we would have had to drive someplace that had cell phone service. We would stay here again for sure because it is a beautiful home and they did at least try to get it fixed and did compensate us some for the inconvenience.

Cost Effective Ski Lodging

We stayed here to ski a few days in Aspen. The cabin is just under an hour away, and it was perfect. Spacious and comfortable, and much more affordable than the lodging closer to the resorts. We would have loved to stay longer.

Had a great experience overall. Loved getting off the grid. The property manager was quick to answer questions, and the stove had a log warming up when we arrived, which was so nice 🙌 definitely plan on coming back 💯

Beautiful place to relax

We enjoyed our stay and was sad to leave. The only draw back was the basement bathtub/shower drain was not working properly. Good thing there was only 3 of us that no issues sharing the 1st floor bathroom.

House is beautiful, but...

The house is gorgeous, but driving through the narrow streets with rocks falling. Streets that being slippery with a lot of snow and there are no guard rails on the very steep streets, you could just slip right off of the cliff. This will give you a heart attack. Go in the summer.

Amazing house with some stipulations lol

Wasn’t any issue for us and a memory of a lifetime but long story short, the cabin is amazing and in a great location if you don’t mind 40 min back roads out of town and zero cell service! Which we didn’t mind at all. They aren’t kidding when they say come before dark, and with 4x4 and chains in the winter. We had 4x4 but didn’t arrive till after 10 pm and couldn’t make it up final road to drive way so we had to park at bottom and walk until road/ice cleared off the next day. Bad situation during it but turned out great and laughed the next day.

Off grid paradise

Nostalgic log cabin in a beautiful, scenic mountain top paradise. Off grid, dirt roads and wildlife are also a part of the experience to be had at this location. We rented the cabin for 2 families to stay together and ski in Aspen. The travel to and from the resort was an enjoyable 1 hour. The roads were a bit icy and could be a big issue depending on the snow conditions. Lucky us, we left the day the storm hit or we would have had problems. Be forewarned, this is very remote and the roads are steep. However, we loved the location and can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Be aware that the king bedroom is a loft with no privacy. It is open and visible from the living room and the deck. The tub is near the end of the bed and is also easily seen from below. It would be a very simple remedy to install a cable with a curtain which could be drawn - or not - depending upon the needs of the renters. The upstairs toilet is behind a partial wall with no door, so folks downstairs can hear what’s going on. On a positive note, the cabin is in a lovely, isolated location, with a pleasant deck on which we enjoyed a glass of wine while we watched deer and hummingbirds, and looked out at the mountains.

Very remote, rustic home with wonderful views and amenities

Our group had a wonderful stay except for one major issue - be aware that the one major drawback is that there is no WiFi or cellular service- you have to nearly drive to basalt which is 30 minutes to get reception. If you ever had an emergency at home, our yourself - you would not know until you were in cellular range to receive or communicate. Also, there is no phone in the house with a landline which I would recommend to management for emergency purposes only. We had major problems with the hot water heater and did not have hot water for half the week. We had to drive to basalt to let property management know and they promised us it would get fixed Friday but did not until Monday. We had to boil water on the stove and take sponge baths. It was 8 men so we can tolerate it but I pity this happening to women! On the other hand, if this did not happen and you can do without contact with the outside world unless you want to take an hour round trip to connect the place is wonderful. Management did make amends for the mishap - I am just letting everyone know so you can manage your expectations
