Our stay started off fabulous. We arrived several hours earlier than check-in. The front desk clerk was able to check us in early and also provided us with a ground floor room right near a side exit. This made travelling with my service dog much more comfortable and was very appreciated. The Common areas of the hotel were very clean and nice.
Unfortunately, things changed once we entered our room. The bathroom had many issues which fall far below the Marriott standard and likely even public health standards. The walk-in shower was full of black mold, mailed you, and grime. The caulking around the bottom edge appeared to be slapped on with a popsicle stick, and was certainly not done by any level of professional. This created all sorts of habitats for the mould and mildew and looked extremely unprofessional. The bathroom sink pipes were clogged, and the sink took approximately eight minutes to drain. Even the toilet paper was substandard. It was very sheer and rough. Moving to the main area of the room we were very disappointed by the quality of the bed and pillows. The bed was very hard and had some sort of covering on it, which created a surprisingly loud noise every time somebody moved. The pillows were old and full of lumps. The blackout drapes had holes in them, and the wall heater was so loud. It disrupted our sleep throughout the night. The casing on the heater was cracked and broken. It appears that somebody in the past did try to crazy glue it together.
