Perfect location for a family getaway, holidays with friends, corporate event or team building. The villa offers the perfect accommodation for family celebrations or weddings (5 minute drive from "La Madonnina di Barni" and from "Villa Pietraluna in PianoRancio", both, very famous locations for weddings). Our villa is ideal for those looking for activity holidays and with many boasting appealing features such as great walking and trekking routes. At your arrival, you will find the house cleaned and perfumed, the beds made up and a set of fresh towels for each guest. The house is spacious, bright, cozy, welcoming for groups of friends, big families, couples, but to make one's stay very special is my personal knowledge of the area with the opportunity to suggest to my guests (based on their age and interests) sites, hiking trails, beaches of the lake, picnic areas, mountain huts, characteristic restaurants not mentioned in the usual tourist circuits, to explore the charming lake of Como like a local, spending less money and having more fun! I will be happy to share with You my personal knowledge of the area with tips and suggestions.

The village of Barni is in an ideal location for exploring both the lake and surrounding hills and mountains. A part the visit of Bellagio (it is a must!), Barni is an ideal site for an active holiday. My guests love experiencing life in a real village with essential amenities close to hand. The locals are friendly and happy to have foreign people all around! I am very happy that all my guests have commented how my tips and suggestions have been helpful to transform and holiday into an “unforgettable holiday”! All my guests love the authentic village location. This way you get the best of both worlds : world famous Bellagio (top level destination for luxury holidays) very close and the almost rustic charm of Barni, typical Italian little village. During your stay, you will feel you are living in a real community, not just visiting as a tourist…this is the main difference between an holiday and a “true holiday”. In the village there is 1 home restaurant and 1 bar within easy walking distance. Self-catering is no problem as the kitchen is perfectly equipped and there is a well-stocked grocery a few steps away. The villa is in a central position close to the public playground and the Proloco square where in the summer there are events, festivals, dancing evenings, etc. At the back of the house pedestrian access to the handmade dairy with direct sale of cheese with goat and cow's. Wild nature and great hikes surrounds the area. The area is plenty of deers that during the evening arrives in the countryside to eat.

At a walking distance from the villa, there is the bus stop connecting Barni to Bellagio and to Canzo / Asso where the train station to Milan is located. Bus to Bellagio at a walking distance of a few minutes from the house. Train to Milan (train station of Asso/Canzo), 7 kilometers from Barni. Como city, 40 minutes by car. Lecco, 30 minutes by car. Bellagio, 10 minutes by car. The most popular beaches, 10 minutes by car. The most popular mountain attractions (Jungle Raider Park, Bike Park, Ski area, Mountain huts, Kayak tours, Boat tours....) less than 10 minutes by car.

If you love an "active" holiday, Lake Como is the ideal destination and our village a strategic point to let you plan different activities every day! You can visit the close BELLAGIO, but also other beautiful and famous villages of the lake as TREMEZZO, VARENNA, MENAGGIO, CERNOBBIO, TORNO. Also known as “The pearl of the Como Lake“, Bellagio stands in a very amazing position, just on the top of the cape that divides the lake into two branches. And from that spectacular position you can enjoy an astonishing landscape: on one side the deep blue of the lake and its coasts and from the other side the green of the promontory. A romantic and relaxing stroll is perfect to feel the atmosphere of the village, with its old houses, alleys, and high standard shops and restaurants. Bellagio is also famous for its splendid villas: it would be a shame not to visit the neoclassic Villa Melzi and its gardens or Villa Serbelloni with its marvelous park.

During your stay, you cannot miss, for their beautiful churches, the old town, the elegant shops, and the atmosphere, the towns of COMO and LECCO; the first one very famous worldwide for the production of precious silk. To visit MILAN, where culture and shopping meet, there is a direct train from ASSO (5 mins drive from Barni) that, in just over an hour reach the center of the historic city. In all seasons, it is wonderful to take a slow boat or a fast hydrofoils or a car ferry to "see the lake from the lake" and in summer the beautiful beaches of ONNO or SAN GIOVANNI DI BELLAGIO are very attractive destination to cool off and relax in a unique and breathtaking landscape! Many mountain routes and attractions within a few minutes drive from Barni as the Jungle Raider Park (adventure park in the trees for young and old), the Extreme Jungle Raider Park (Extreme adventure park for adults), the Bike Park (park with bike trails) and the lifts of Mount San Primo during the winter season. In the winter season, take your teens to ski the mountain San Primo, less then ten minutes by car from the house.

THE HISTORY OF THE VILLA. The villa, dating back to the early '900, with floors and parquet of that period, has undergone conservative restoration while preserving the original doors and fixtures. Furnished with antique furniture restored and renovated in modern style, it is spread over two levels for nearly 300 square meters with its large private garden.
All major families of Milan, in the early years of 900, had built their houses of holidays in the hill of Como Lake, and not by the lake, for the climate milder and less hot. In these places, they loved to spend all the summer months in order to escape the warmth of the city and enjoy the cool and the beauty of these wonderful places, ideal for those who love to dive into nature and to divide between relaxing, bathing at the lake and hiking in the hills or in the mountains. For this reason, a train station (active since 1922) is located at 5 minutes drive from Barni, at Asso / Canzo that in approx 1 hour connect the area to Milano Cadorna.
