You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. "We loved staying in a house built in the 1600s! It was like getting to sleep in a museum rather than a hotel.
Also - the Continental Breakfast was more than we expected! Beyond a few kinds of breakfast bread and a toaster, there was also whipped cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and a couple types of fresh fruit. We were very pleased.
There were only a couple drawbacks (which would NOT keep me from recommending the experience):

"It's our second time at Silsbee! We were at the Rajah room the first time, and now at in the Canton room. We loved our stay. Quiet, not in the middle of everything BUT close enough to walk everywhere. The Mercy Tavern near by (3 min walk) is a MUST! Best burgers in town! We had an AC issue on a day of 105, and the owner was very quick and responsive and had good options, although we were able to quickly fix the issue! Breakfast is hold almost in a museum place! So pretty! We love Salem, and will...
