Quiet, rural retreat

After spending more than a week in the cities of Zagreb and Ljubljana, we wanted a quiet escape. This place fit the bill. It's a small, modular home with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower. I enjoyed a soak in the tub on the deck in the evening, and we all liked having our meals by candle and moonlight. This region of Istria seems popular with German and Italian tourists, and while our hosts spoke very little English we had no problem communicating with our sparse German and Croatian. The only thing I would let people know to be aware of (and that I didn't see listed on Home Away, but was on the rental paperwork we received about 2 weeks before our trip) is the $200 Euro cash deposit due upon arrival. We paid it and got it all back, but it was by far the largest we've paid during our 3 week stay in Croatia and Slovenia.
